Scott is a really good guy. He cares a lot about helping "motivated" students, and wants everyone to succeed. With that being said, you definitely earn your grade in this class. If you don't put in the effort and try to understand his interesting style of teaching, you will struggle. The material is hard, but he provides many ways to seek help.

201 is the HARDEST class I have ever had, But this prof LOVED econ. He is super passionate about it, however this does bring him to trail off and get distracted. GO TO OFFICE HOURS. I cannot stress this enough. He is so helpful if you actually seek help. GO to office hours before quizzes and he will literally tell you the answers. Get there early!

The hardest class I've taken this semester. Tests are unnecessarily hard, and is nothing like what we are quizzed on. I put in A LOT of effort in this class and barely got a C. Don't take this professor if Econ is not your thing!!!!

This man single handedly ruined my gpa. Im not even a business major but had to take econ201 and youre only graded on 3 tests and quizzes that rarelt count towards your grade. The tests are near impossible and he doesnt teach things correctly

People are a little harsh here. He is VERY passionate about econ and is SO helpful to his students if you take the extra step to see him. He gives you the materials to do well if you ACTUALLY TRY. Go to his office hours before quizzes and he will give the answers. Actually study the practice tests bc the exams are very similar questions.

I seriously appreciate this man. I got an honor violation in 201 last semester. When he talked to me about it, he made it about more than just cheating and made it a moral lesson which really sat with me. I'm currently in his class again & he doesn't treat me with any less respect than other students. Take his class! He is an amazing professor.

He's a good guy and means well but he really isn't the best teacher. He gets off topic a lot and jumps around with material. He has his own "interactive textbook" that is kind of confusing. He knows his stuff but the tests are unnecessarily hard. There is a 10% curve for the class which is nice. Get ready to STUDY A LOT if you take him.

Milliman really loves econ and its very clear, but he's not the best at teaching an introductory course. The tests are really hard but he curves so it's not as bad. If you go to his office hours before quizzes, you're basically guaranteed a 100 on them. If you really love and understand econ, take him, otherwise find someone else.

Everyone that complains about his class is either miserable at ECON or is just lazy. He does tend to rush through important material, but he does a good job of relating it to the real world. There are 8 quizzes and if you go to office hours he'll give you the answers. Both tests were easy and were just like the practice exam. Highly recommend.

Let me first say he knows what he is talking about, but he acts like the class is full of Econ majors. He spends most of the class talking about politics and in the last ten minutes forces Econ material b/c he is running low on time. The tests are unreasonable hard for a basic Econ class. Just don't take him period!

known to wear the same sweater to class everyday, not sure if he washes it or not. I think his previous career was being mickey mouse at Disney World. I don't think he's read an article from past 2010 but doesn't impact the class. Would have to recommend him if you have any sense of humor or understading of econ

Don't take unless you understand the basics of economics. I took thinking he'd be understanding that this was a introductory class, but I thought he just talked to us as if we were his coworkers who already knew all about it. Only 2 (difficult) tests and a bunch of small quizzes. He teaches out of a workbook which I thought made it hard to study

Milliman is a really nice guy and very knowledgeable and passionate about what he teaches. He was great for 201, but 331 was a completely different story. The flipped classroom style is absolutely awful and ineffective, he barely lectures and you're pretty much expected to teach yourself everything. Definitely do not take 331 with Milliman.

Comment:
Milliman is the most unreasonable professor I have ever had. Grades are entirely test-based and the distribution seems to be about even for each letter. You start getting penalized after 2 missed classes even though it is a flipped class room. He often goes off on tangents that are anti-business and then some how relates it to what's moral in life.

Michael Scott described Toby Flenderson as "the worst" on The Office. He would say the same about this professor. In all seriousness, this class is easy but is structured horribly. It's a flipped classroom, meaning you watch these online videos then come to class to work in groups on packets while he doesn't lecture, yet attendance is mandatory...

I took this class Fall 2016 and it was the hardest class I've ever taken, mostly because the way that the class was set up, you watch the videos online and go to class to do the homework, he is busy helping other students and nothing gets done in class, exam questions have nothing to do with homework questions or practice problems, he is super rude

Scott Milliman is such a sweet, silly man and truly wants his students to succeed. He loves economics and is very smart . The in-class workbook is crucial to success. Class time is spent doing homework problems in groups and grades are solely based on tests which are pretty challenging. Put in effort, go to office hours/review sessions!

Milliman is a great person, very passionate about economics and teaching it. He's quirky and just a genuinely nice person. Class is definitely not easy and he makes you work for a B or an A. The in-class workbook is ESSENTIAL!!! Group work in class and the homework problems simulate the tests. Put effort in and you'll do fine.

Milliman is a hard teacher, you can still do well in the class though. His teaching method is really unique but you really know economics well. I wasn't able to put in the time necessary to learn his material so I chose to withdraw knowing I wouldn't be able to rebound. I would only recommen him if you really are going to put the effort in.
