You can tell he really cares about his students, but his class is awful. He gets off topic so easily and I don't think I learned one thing from his class. Nothing in the course is clear at all. If you get lost he will try to help but even then you still might have no clue what is going on.

I absolutely love Scott he is the sweetest man alive. He is very easy to get to know and points out some interesting topics in class. I was sad to finish the course. I recommend anyone to take his class.

Awesome guy. Has a great sense of humor and loves to joke all the time. Tests were easy (vocab). Not a hard grader on speeches and really provides great feedback after every speech. Would definitely take another class with him if I had the chance.

Avoid, avoid, avoid this class if you can. An easy A, but you won't learn a thing! I know that sounds harsh, but it's true. Class was a waste of time and he even made some offensive jokes during class. If you need a boost to your GPA take the course, if you want to learn something DO NOT DO IT.

Very focused on in class debates. This guy was awesome and knows more about debates and debating styles than anyone I've ever met. His tests are straight from the textbook, which you don't have to buy because he gives it to you online. Awesome teacher, awesome class.

Scott is the best. He's hilarious and very nice. Easiest grader ever, and has very interesting stories. He sometimes goes off on a tangent but always gets back on track eventually, and his assignments are very fair. Take a class with him!!

He is a good teacher overall. I would definitely suggest him as a teacher and his class. All the grading comes from speeches and vocabulary quizzes. When making your speech he will mainly help you outside of class, but he does give suggestions when he is grading. He does go off on tangents but it is mainly examples and sometimes they are cool.

REALLY nice guy, always excited to come to class to teach. Always willing to help, he even told us he would help us with public comm even after the class was through. Lectures unorganized, sometimes boring. He goes off-tangent a LOT. One time he talked for 20 minutes about how shipping containers changed the world. Not too hard if you do the work.

I think he's a great teacher. I don't understand why people are being so critical of him. He really cares about his students and is a really nice, caring family man. He always talks about his son and it's so cool. He also made me become interested in speech comm and was willing to take tons of time out of his schedule to help me do a better job.

I don't understand all the bad ratings! Scott was great for Argumentation & Debate. Sometimes the class was a little disorganized, but the lectures were pretty good, and he's awesome at answering questions. Also, the textbook made everything clear. Debates were fun, a little difficult, but I got into it. Also,Scott likes to lie, and its hilarious.
