I think I never wrote so much and I didn't like the long compositions. Also it was not compulsory but I could improve my grade with more compositions. But I have a life. It was too much writing. the composition course was better when you had us find the title an write just the introduction or the plan

I was confused about what was expected at first but my writing improved 100% with description and editing. I always looked forward to coming to class and time went fast. I loved this class. The prof is respectful and I felt free to write without being judged

I took 3900 last year and it took me a while to evaluate how much professor Woodward brought me. I resented her for giving me dictee during all her office hours . I resented the time she spent on me and I now realize how nice it was of her to spend all that time on me. I did so much better then on my next courses my grades went up by 15%

I took a language course with her and did not apply myself and got an inflated grade. I took her translation course and she truly inspired me and took due notice of my progress. I discovered I liked translation like a word puzzle an I prefer The Lover and Les fous de Bassan. I like evaluating the writers. Love the course and the prof

Dr Woodward is probably the best professor I had. She is very intelligent and articulate. I learned a lot about French literature and culture to be sure, but I also discovered how to write and research. Noone had ever instructed me so clearly in the process of writing and research. She is a true professional in every sense of the word.

Avoid taking a class with her if you can. I didn't learn anything for a whole semester. She didn't give breaks and often insisted on teaching for the whole 3 hours. Very opinionated, but not good at listening to others' opinions.

One of the worst professors I have ever had... don't bother asking her questions because she will just go on and on about her own cynical opinions. This woman hates life. In a class of 8 students, couldn't be bothered to learn any of our names. Wish I would have dropped this course in time.
