he doesnt use canvas which is awful. you only do three major projects through the year: a few essays and a final. his lectures are boring but if you can get through the assignments i think youll be fine.

Comment:

This class was challenging, with a lot of reading and writing. 3 books required. We read a play, a novel, and a lot of poems. 3 major writing assignments (including final). A lot of homework assignments, it seemed like there was always something to turn in. I wasn't a huge fan of his grading system, but in the end it all worked out. No regrets.

You need the textbooks. Accepts late work. Patient. Homework isn't too heavy. Final is three essays 500 words each. If you can finesse this is an easy A. You don't really have to raise your hand too much either. If I remember right it was like two papers and a final and no other tests apart from that. Bring your laptop and class will be chill.

Amazing teacher!! Take him for your English class! It will be worth it. There will be plenty of material to read from, but the way that he's designed his class is so that you enjoy writing, like in his syllabus he says as long as you have evidence to back up your statements. That's all. He cares for the content of your work. GREAT CLASS! TAKE TAKE!

Overall is a very helpful professor when you ask him for it. He tends to ramble during classes, but provides excellent resources for anything that he assigns. He gives more work than others, but most of it helps when it comes to the 4 essays over the semester.

His class is disorganized, slow, and very boring. It's not hard, because of how slow he takes things. Theres a lot of writing but it's not challenging in the least. If you want to take an easy class, this is it, but be prepared to be bored. Constantly. In the class, with the homework, and with all the reading.

He wasn't the teacher I chosen for my semester so I went in not knowing anything about him. He's okay but he does't clarify what he wants clearly and gets frustrated when we don't understand him. He talks a lot and he is funny sometimes but it is rare and he mostly just assigns boring work that I have a hard time wanting to work on.

Grumpy at best and downright mean if you don't know something he finds obvious. He does not look for class lectures to actually inspire conversation or discussion from the students, he just wants to lead to his very specific opinions. Keep your head down and your mouth shut with this professor and you'll get by bored to tears but unscathed.

I took his Eng2 class and he was very helpful! He offers a LOT of outsidebackground material to help students on their papers, and he gives us guides and handouts. He goes over whatever we're working on for a long period of time before any actual work gets done. He has a soft voice, so you may be tempted to zone out. Great class!

If you want to ask questions or challenge him - DON'T! He gets defensive and downright mean if your opinion in your essays don't match his own. The book is required for assignments. If you can show up, be a drone and just do exactly what he says you'll get an A. Allows you to revise essays for better grades. Just not a nice person.

Look, I took English 1, barely passed, and felt unsuitable for college. Took this guy, got an A, and came out confident again. All you gotta do is put a little extra effort. By saying that I mean revise your paper to make it an A instead of a B. Yeah a little boring, but nothing overwhelming. He only asks for like 5 essays including the final.

worst...teacher...ever. I am not joking you, but he is the strangest man in the world. does not guide you to write the kind of papers h wants. over analyzes everything! way to subjective. this is English 2, supposed to be very straight forward. I'm not writing a book. this is a prerequisite and needs to be treated that way. he is lame beyond words

Professor is nice and fairly helpful. The class is pretty boring but I think that is more due to the subject than it is his fault. A LOT of assignments, which is good for boosting your grade. Write at least the minimum amount of pages required for essays (even if you feel done before that), he'll take points off if you don't.

Annoying class. A lot of work. I was excited before this class but it got old fast. He can be sort of mean if you get on his bad side. Keeps his room Freezing! A lot of work - which I don't mind, but it felt like "busy work" AKA useless drudgery. A lot of hours, I didn't learn a thing and was totally unprepared for English 2. Hellish Final

An easy class if you just show up and do as he say. He is very organized and you know exactly what you should do. He's not very punctual when it comes to grammar, he's more interested in your writing process. A very good teacher if you're an international student with english as you're second language. I learned a lot!

Mr Overall's class could be extremely boring at times but VERY easy if you follow his instructions. Lots of writing (most of it which could be done in class) and offers you re writes if you mess up. MAKE SURE YOU WORK ON YOUR ISEARCH PAPER FROM DAY 1! I never turned my isearch and surprisingly still got a B in the class.

Overall is very straight forward. He conducts the class like hes teaching 3rd grade, which is kind of disengaging and makes it very boring but its hard to not do exactly what he says, since he babies you through every step. Writing is graded decently tough, but follow the steps, do your work and what he says and you'll do fine.

Prof Overall is great. during class time he allows his students to brain storm and free write so we basically do all the work in class. If you dont like to write do not take him, but if you enjoy writing he is the guy to take.He is very willing to help if you ever come across any problems. His classes are chill.

Comment:

Use textbooks often and a lot of papers and assignments. Majority of the assignments are credit/no credit which is easy -- just do the work to get credit. The class is dry if you're not interacting with anyone. But all-in-all, the class is stupid easy. I recommend it.
