Fantastic teacher! The key is being able to take his constructive criticism without taking it personally. He has no patience for slackers, but if you genuinely try, he will coach you through any rough spots. He will not lie or sugar-coat anything, but if you can't help taking the advice he offers personally, you won't make it in the theatre world.

Steven is a brilliant man who knows his stuff. He encourages office hours and is definitly there to help and wants you to succeed but if you blow off his class in any way shape or form, he will have a complete disregard for you. Try. No matter how ridiculous it is just invest in the whole 'personal journey' concept and you'll be fine.

Steven is an amazing teacher but not an easy one! He will push you far beyond your limits. He wants his students to improve and if he doesn't think you are, he won't mince words. He's very up front and honest. It's hard to take but if it's taken the right way, it's very constructive. If you aren't willing to work your butt off, stay far far away!

This guy is always performing, you never know who he really is. Sometimes I wonder if he knows who he really is. Seems plastic and fake. Once he makes an initial judgement about you, it sticks. I've seen him refuse to cast actors based on what he was told by others, rather than his own personal experience.

Yea, yea, Steven's a hard teacher... and if you don't love the arts, don't take his classes. But he is intense and in your face because he loves his art and wants you to appreciate all of it's aspects, which means hard work on your part.
