Good teacher. Very thorough. Very long lectures. if you miss one day you are behind like 2 chapters. Very respectful. But also a very hard grader. No homework. But the midterms and finals are hard as balls. One huge final paper before the actual 135 question final. It is a lot of reading

Hilarious. Acknowledges all students & treats them with respect. High emphasis on social justice. Tells great stories & teaches street smarts. Is your sweet old grandpa, but tends to go off in a tangent & take a long time to explain one concept. Tests can be hard, but read the book & you'll be fine. 3 tests, 1 1500-word essay, 0 homework.

I took him for History 17b too. Lots of readings. I hate history but the way he taught it made me like it. Test are tough so u have to study for them. Quizes every week but it prepares u for the midterm/final. My best friend passed away & he was willing to work with me for the days I lost so my grade wouldn't drop. He's very helpful, caring & funny

You get to watch videos and take quizzestests off the book. The content is pretty long but he grades kindly. He inserts jokes in his lecture and tries to get the class to respond. Overall, he is worth taking.

I took his 17A class at SJC. He lectured most of the class (3 hour class) My grip about this professor is he is totally unorganized and did not follow the syllabus. He missed classes without notice and our group all had the same answers yet hed mark some wrong and others right! Group work, open book. He makes big mistakes grading watch out!

He is an interesting professor. Makes class fun with his sense of humor. You need the book because 80% of the tests are from the book. The rest are from lectures. 3 Exams, 2 papers and map quizzes.

There are three books with three exams. The books are pretty long so don't wait until the last minute. He will give you hints what to look out for. There are also a couple of movies included in the exams. The exams are graded on a curve too. Although his lectures can be confusing, he is a pretty nice guy once you get used to his teaching style.

If you want to pass the class, go to lecture everyday. Most of the material on the exams will be from the lecture, some from the book (rarely used in class). Start research paper early. Nice professor. Kept the class entertaining.

The best word to describe his class is 'random'. There are many pop quizzes with obscure questions so you have to keep up with the reading. Buy the newest version. There are 3 exams and 1 research paper. When writing the paper/exam essays, make sure you follow a check list of things to mention. You will get a higher grade than what you expect.

This class was made up of a LOT of reading, 2 exams, 1 research paper, and small in-class assignments such as pop-quizzes. He is interesting but tends to stray off topic and does a lot of lecturing about irrelevant things. Overall, nice man who loves what he teaches. Fun class.
