Comment:

Professor Hussein is an intelligent teacher who is more than willing to help her students succeed. The readings, though quite hefty, are helpful. Reading all of the assigned texts are a necessity because you don't have to study as much (or quite frankly at all) for the exams. Though the class is like pulling teeth, I recommend it.

I went into this class with an open mind regardless of the posts prior to mine. but HOLY CRAP is this class bad! she is the worst teacher and doesn't even teach the material needed for the tests. I recommend switching classes. If you can't switch I recommend reading every single aspect of the book because she won't be of any help...

very nice professor. she will help you whenever you need. i dont understand these previous ratings. it's true that wat she says in class isnt that clear, but if you do wat she tells u to do, then u r golden. go to class cuz its part of ur grade. oh yea, she makes a lot of corny jokes..A LOT..lol

Would not recommend, she's tough. Her directions are unclear and her moodle forum things are basically the grade and no one really knew what to do till AFTER the midterm when it was already too late. Stay away. find a different teacher. she has papers, forums, quizzes, finals and a bunch of other stuff for a stupid class.

She says you can call her anytime. But if you do call, she will take off points. I just cannot understand her. She is rude to students. Her online HW does not work most of the time. She will not excuse us even though it is her mistake.

I recommend everybody to stay away from her. I took an online class with her, but I would not recommend it to anyone. Tons of papers, chat on forums. The worst thing was about the course she did not gave me specific directions also she was not helpful at all. If you can STAY AWAY FROM HER.

This class was supposed to be my easy class of the semester and ended up being the most stressful.. EVERYTHING is done online on Moodle which SUCKS!!!! tonnnns of papers and assignments and her lectures are pretty painful to sit through.. I wouldnt recommend her to my worst enemy..

Dr. Hussein is an excellent teacher who is always keen on keeping the class interested in all assignments. She does assign quite a bit of reading but always, always avails herself and makes time for her students. She is never too busy to meet. I took 4 classes with her, learned a great deal, and recommend it for everyone. She is wonderful!

She's a really nice person, but can be a little odd sometimes, and despite her best efforts to keep us interested this class was just boring! Lots of reading, lots of work. We even have to submit an online portfolio at the end of the semester and keep up with posts on moodle [which is very similar to blackboard] after every class. DONT TAKE HER!

no words can describe how terrible this class was! she is very knowledgeable about the greeks but a horrible professor who give TONSSS of quizes tests and papers!!!she even makes u hand even a portfolio of all your work at the end of the semester. she gives essays, takes daily attendence, and the material she covers is BORINGG! stay away trust me

I found this class to be very easy but she could not teach at all. I was very interested but it was just dreadful getting through the classes. Her lectures made ZERO sense. She talked and talked and nothing she ever said seemed to be relevant. I learned more about greece in a 2 hour history channel special than I did in this course. No lie.

DO NOT TAKE HER FOR MYTHOLOGY! She mumbles in class about only God knows what. I did work hard in the class, and did well, but it was not the easy A I hoped for. If you are a classics major I would suggest taking her as she is knowledgable, but if not she will not captivate you in her lectures.
