Comment:
Wadley. is. awful. The class is easy, don't get me wrong, the lowest grade I've gotten on a paper was like an 88 without doing any of the readings whatsoever. But she is awful. She's boring, obsessed with India and expects way to much in the essays. Would not recommend

One of the worst classes I've taken at SU. Material is random, lectures are terribly unorganized and the professor is rude and boring. There is WAY to much reading for a 100 level class (most of it is seems unrelated). Avoid this class if you can take something else for humanities. Great TAs, though.

Boring in every sense of the word. Pop quizzes are given in discussion sections based on the readings for that week or the previous week depending on when you have it. I never did the readings and guessed on the quizzes and im doing ok on them so far. Literally wrote the second paper in under 4 hours and got a 90, soooo, not that hard to pass

Writing intensive class, so there are a lot of papers and you should probably read the books to do well on them. There's pop quizzes in section. Your grade is basically the 4 papers and the random quizzes during section. Lectures are boring but you have to use them in the papers.

literally the worst class i have taken at SU. She expects far more than what her requirements state and is incredibly boring in lecture

I thought this class was going to be extremely interesting, but I was wrong. The readings are pointless, however she only grades on 4 papers. The hard part is you need to connect 2 lectures and 3 readings and sometimes the readings have nothing to do with the paper topics. Also there is at least 100 pages of reading a week

This is probably my favorite class I've taken so far. I found the material to be extremely interesting and eye-opening. The essays were never any longer than about 1200 words. Although it seems like a lot of reading that needs to be done for the essays, I got an A just by skimming through it. She's very knowledgeable. All of her TA's are great, too

If you hand something in late (even with a legit reason) she takes deep personal offense to it. Incredibly difficult to talk to. Would not recommend.

Professor Waldey makes you become a better writer by her teaching techniques. She was great. A bit honest at times, but you need that in a professor. I highly recommend taking her grant proposal writing course.

She's obviously a very knowledgeable and smart woman about her research topic, which is South Asia, it's just that she is not that personable. To be honest she can be downright condescending and rude when you ask her questions or have conversation with her. But isn't that a professor's job, to answer questions and teach their subject?

Good professor for this class. She knows so much about South East Asia from personal experience. It's really one of those classes where you'll like the material or not. Lots of reading, but most of it is quite interesting. Very nice lady.

I've taken several classes with Professor Wadley during my days at SU. One of the most profound teachers I'll ever come in contact with.

Isn't very helpful to students, also teaches from a 1980s, rural perspective when discussing other countries and modernity.

Possibly the worst class I have ever taken. I was hard pressed to find any students in my class who would have disagreed with me. Could have been a fantastic class, but she made it tedious and horribly uninteresting. The TAs made is semi-tolerable.
