Super easy class! If you want to boost your GPA take this class with him as the prof! He is very nice and funny! Often gets off topic but his lectures are very organized and easy to follow! I would totally recommend him to others!

Friendly and funny. His assignments are clear and there are no surprises on the exams. Students must attendant if they want to pass. There was no textbook. He uses an overhead and doesn't use blackboard. I would recommend this class to anyone

Dr. Brown remains one of the most-loved and influential teachers in my life. He's a great teacher in the classic sense, as he encourages students to develop their faculties of analytical and critical thinking. His resonance remains with me although it's been years since I was in his class.

I found Dr. Brown to be extremely friendly and helpful. I became very ill for about 2 weeks and couldn't make it to class, and Dr. Brown was kind enough to meet with me privately and discuss what I missed. You must attend the lectures or you won't be able to pass the tests.

Best prof ever! A lecture based class so if you're shy or just want an GPA booster w/o really doing much besides listening, take his classes. Really old school; literally uses the overhead so attend class to get the needed notes. Easy assignments & tests. Outgoing & funny guy.

Decent teacher, does not use blackboard at all which is a bit frustrating. Notes are all on overheads or from him talking. Tests are easy if you attend every class and take good notes.

Not a very stimulating classroom environment. Classes consist of lectures and overhead slides. In my class, the lectures we had related little to the assignments we were given, which involved a lot of book reading and had very unclear expectations.

didnt mind this class. no text so u must attend class as its all lecture based. he does not put his notes on black board. he looks for specifics on his assignments but if you talk to him one on one he will tell you exactly what to do. fair teacher but lectures can get long he can go in circles. not fantastic but not close to terrible

Tom is one of the greatest profs I have ever had. Competed two courses with him before this one, and he is the reason I decided to major in History. Whenever you talk with him, he treats you like an equal, not just another student. Attendance is highly recommended for his classes because he does not lecture from the text.

Dr. Brown is a fairly good prof. I agree that he is a little obsessed with ancient sexuality... funny once or twice, but annoying when it keeps happening. That aside, it was a good class, very helpful and gave me a new but enlightening perspective on many historical issues. If you want to see a new perspective, take his class.
