He's an okay professor. His teaching methods are very old school. Don't miss class if you do take him. Personally i wouldn't ever take his class again because his teaching methods are old school and very confusing.

He's a really awesome teacher. Excellent at teaching, fun subjects (to the nerdy econ major). He makes an effort to help every student and explains things thoroughly.

Dr. Pierce is the greatest professor that has every taught, in my opinion. He truly cares about the success of his students, and he truly has no ego. I wish every instructor was like him. I can't explain how awesome he is because he is that awesome. Thank you, Dr. Pierce, for being unselfish and caring. The grade I received is not his fault.

This professor is super clear in what he wants from students, the material he offers and grading. If you like economics, you will love this class. But, if you don't like as much as I do, you may find this class confusing. I enjoyed this course very much, and I'm taking his ECON 300 next quarter :D

You cannot miss class. He covers so much in a class period and his exams (there are three in the quarter and that is what your grade is based on) are based off his lecture. He does assign readings but he posts them all on blackboard so there is no book for the class.

Great prof. â€" took this and ECON 302 with him (A in that too). I actually understand what’s going on in the market now thanks to him. If I could, I’d take all my econ with him. Straightforward class, long essay tests but he’s a forgiving grader. He loves his subject and it shows â€" wish there were 10x the number of professors like him.

I found this class extremely interesting and valuable; I'm glad I took it. Pierce only tests on what he goes over in class. There's a small amount of basic math used in the first weeks of the class; calculators are allowed. The paper required a decent amount of research, but the subject matter tied in with the class and was very interesting.

This class is extremely easy to pass. All you have to do is show up, pay attention and take notes. He only tests you on what he talks about in class, so the exams are not complicated or shocking. The paper that is assigned toward the end of the quarter is no big deal, and he is always more than willing to answer questions.

Great class, greater professor. No textbook required. The exams emphasize the notes taken in class. Make sure to understand the examples given as well. The readings are meant to clarify any concepts you have questions on. By the time you get to paper 1, you'll know a lot about capitalism to write on it. Also, extra credit paper is helpful

Boring, difficult to hear in large lecture hall. Did not require us to pay for textbook; instead handed out CDs. Assigns a lot of reading. I thought the class would be a lot more interesting but it was not. Tests did not make much sense to me. You will have to write a paper.

Great Professor very good lectures that make the subject easy to understand and very interesting. Definitely should go to class or you wont really understand the material. Study your notes and read for the tests. Tests will only be on your notes and what he talks about in class. Great professor

simply the best professor I have had at csusb. Took econ 410 as a unit requirement filler and was happy I did so. Dr. Pierce is a prime example of what being a professor is because of his passion for the subject and his ability to clearly teach it to students. I am looking forward to taking more courses with him.

One of few professors that know how to teach. He is clear with his lectures and very organized. His grading is fair, not hard at all and he will answer any ?s you have. Definitely have to take him for any econ classes you can. 410 is very interesting and useful for your future. Tests are mostly free-response, he gives pts for trying =)recommend!!!
