I was really disappointed by this class. It was very flexible when it came to doing quizzes and readings on my own time, but it felt more like a boring history class than a religion class. 12 lesson quizzes from long lesson readings, two tests (each worth 25% of your grade), and a long/busy work scripture study assignment. Wouldn't recommend it.

I like taking online classes, but Professor Wayment has hard tests and one huge assignment that is worth 25% of your grade that you will spend no less than 5 hours on. The work was worth a 3 or 4 credit class, not a 2 credit class. If you have the option to take it from someone else, DO IT!

Awesome online class to take. I would suggest to everyone to take this class. Gives appropriate time to complete assignments and you can take the final exam early if you want to finish the class. He helps out a lot and is super understanding.

Amazing teacher! He really teaches to teach, and not to test. If you attend his class, and take detailed notes you will easily get an A. His tests are online and come straight from his lectures. They are open notes and open book. He does not try to trick you. He also will do all he can to insure you pass, with extra credit. I would take again.

He is the best religion teacher I've had so far. I have taken two of his classes, and both were amazing. He really teaches you the gospel, and helps you understand the scriptures. His test are online and are based off his lectures so don't miss class, and take detailed notes. He never tries to trick you, and does everything to give you an A.

Prof. Wayment is one of the most incredible religion professors BYU has to offer. He knows so many scripture references off hand and clearly knows his stuff. He's very willing to help clearing up misunderstandings and deals with tricky topics really well. Take really good notes! All of his tests are based off what he says in class.

I loved having Pro. Wayment! His lectures are very interesting and his whole goal is so that you learn. This doesn't mean you can skip out, believe me you won't want to. He really knows his stuff. He definitely gives you a different perspective on Christ. Tests are pretty straight forward if you take notes and do the reading. but not too hard.

Easily my fav religion class. Prof is funny, humble, doesn't present his ideas as doctrine. Really wants students to do well in his class and emphasizes spiritual thoughtfulness more than historical memorization. Attendance helps for tests. Can use easier-to-read versions of the Bible sometimes. I would definitely take another class from him.

I took this as an online class through BYU (using Independent Study but getting regular credit). It was a good class, & the online lecture videos by Wayment were interesting. Do the work & take good notes for the test (I basically just put most of the text into a summarized, shortened version, printed it, and took it to the IS testing center)! Easy

Dr. Wayment is hilarious! I loved his class. I would take it again from him! His class makes sense. He structures his class and assignments with purpose. He hates the testing center so tests are online. I wish I could take every single religion class from him.

Professor Wayment is my new favorite teacher. I've always had a difficult time with the quantitative expectations of religion classes, but Professor Wayment's assignments and tests are clear, based entirely on readings and in-class discussion, and encourage students to incorporate their personal opinions. I wish every student could take his class.

Great sense of humor. Not your typical BYU religion professor (not that the other ones are bad). Very up-front, honest, and knowledgable about the subject. Definitely made me learn to love the NT a lot more.

Professor Wayment is easily my favorite religion professor at BYU. Really humble, really sincere. Loved his sense of humor. Doesn't pretend like his opinion is doctrine. Doesn't assign busy work. Really hoping to be able to take, or at least audit, the second half of the NT with him. Can't recommend him enough.

Professor Wayment is a great teacher. He understands that religion courses should not be the hardest class in your schedule. His insights about the history of the Book of Mormon were interesting and he did not just tell the stories like most teachers. His assignments are very easy and he is a pretty funny guy. I highly enjoyed the class.

Sorry, but the worst religion course (including seminary and Sunday School) I've taken. It was a Book of Mormon RM section, and we spent most of our time talking about pointless deep doctrine and obscure anti-mormon points of view. Class was almost everything but uplifting - there were some interesting days, but generally it was not that great.

Pro. Wayment is an awesome teacher! That being said, he's not a huge "Spiritual" teacher. He tells it how it is and will definitely make you think, gives GREAT insights to the New Testament. I wish I had more rel. classes left so I could take them from him. Exams/Quizzes can be tricky, but attend class, take notes & cake. Take his class, trust me.

Professor Wayment is a boss at teaching BOM. It was a perfect class for any RM. He has impressive insights on the Book of Mormon and doesn't mind on going off on tangents. His tests are very reflective of what is discussed in class, so go to class. He's not a strictler on the reading. The midterm and final were both open note and open book online.

Literally obsessed with Bro. Wayment. My favorite religion prof at BYU. I learned so much and was always uplifted. His humor is sarcastic-hilarious. So nice, too. Just TAKE NOTES in class-open note tests on Learning Suite. A few quizzes, not too hard, not a lot of work. I would HIGHLY recommend him!
