I am a fan of Dr. Kral. He took things a little slower than Dr. Al, and I appreciated that. He wants you to have an in-depth understanding. I think Dr. Kral and Dr. Al make a good team.

Comment:

He puts in a lot of effort to make class enjoyable. I appreciated it, even if the jokes weren't always funny. Attendance is very important. Be sure to take notes every day. He posts a lot of old exams as study tools that are helpful. However, don't expect an A on tests if they are the only thing you study. Offers a lot of bonus points.

Dr. Kral is very knowledgable and funny. He cares so much about making the class fun and even has a mid class break every day where he shares jokes to make everyone laugh. His tests are just like the practice exams. Literally, they are the same questions with a few more thrown in from lecture. I really enjoyed this class!

Comment:

Dr. Kral's lectures are extremely interesting, and he presents the material in a way that stores it directly in to your long term memory. His teaching style is unique, but worked very well with me. He loves sarcasm. He does not follow the book, so it is important to go to lecture, as anything he mentions is fair game for exams, which are easy.

Dr. Kral helped the class go by more quickly, but was a very strange man... Didn't really like his teaching style but his tests were fairly easy.

His lectures are pretty dry, but take notes on everything he says in class and it will really help you when reviewing for the tests. Both tests he gave were very similar to the practice tests. On the first test there were a few questions I hadn't seen before, but on the last test EVERY question was copied and pasted from the practice tests.

Average quality lectures, horrible professor outside of class. I studied for all of his tests and could not get an A. Exam questions are generally like the practice tests, but there are 5-10 that aren't and those will make or break your test grade. I went in to his office hours to get tips on preparing for final and he was very rude and not helpful

He has an easy class but I ended with a 78% because of the trick questions on the tests. Just know your stuff and come to class and you should be fine. However, don't ask him to bump because he won't. It doesn't matter if you have great attendance or not.

I have always hated MICRO and Timothy Kral made it bearable and even enjoyable. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this sweet man in the horizontal stripes!! He is SO invested in the well-being of his students

Lecture was enjoyable and clear. However you will not pass if you skip class all the time. The material came relatively easily to me, but I did know a lot of people who struggled. His tests can be tricky, so read the questions carefully. That being said he covers everything you need to know in lecture, so take good notes and you're golden.

His tests are straight forward except for a trick questions. His lectures are somewhat interesting because he is a good speaker. He is the least helpful person for study hours however. He drops your lowest test, ended with an A

It seems like his class has gotten easier over the years, by what I have read just go to lecture he gives all the information that is needed to pass the class. He is so funny with his half-time funnies in each lecture.

I love this guy. He teaches lecture-style, 4 tests, final, and one drops. He's very entertaining. I always looked forward to his class. Be sure to read his practice tests, you really have to know the material for the tests. He really made the classes fun. All hail the Kral

One of the best professors I have had! Before taking this class I was rusty on biology concepts but Dr. Kral made it very easy to understand! Didn't use the book because all you have to do is come to class, takes notes, and he tells you exactly what will be on the test. He gives four/five old exams which most of the questions come from.

Extremely easy professor with a great personality. He reads funny things in the middle of class to keep his students interested and engaged. He gives like 4-5 old exams to study and many of the questions are exact repeats. I made 100% on his last test and a high A on the first one and I didn't even study that much... Just listened to his lectures!

Good teacher and good class. Going to class is the best thing you can do. He gives old tests to study so that is helpful. Wording on tests can be a little tricky so just pay attention to what he is asking. Totally possible to get an A. 60% of our class did.

He is a good teacher. Attending class will help you do well. He tells you what's going to be on the test. He really want to help his students do well. One dislike will have to be distributing back the test. He stands there calling out 250+ students name to come get their test. WASTE OF TIME.

Easy class. Go to class, memorize your notes, and you will do fine. Like the previous person said, take early on b/c the material is VERY basic and somewhat frustratingly slow for older Biology majors.
