Comment:
Scarlett is very arrogant, and his lectures contain a lot of bias and often get off topic. If you do the readings (or at least skim them), though, you should be fine to pass the class, I skipped most of the lectures and still got an A in the class.

Comment:
Dr. Scarlett wasnt interested in teaching facts. He wanted to teach us how to think, how to problem solve, etc. Each class session was inspirational and, even though I wasnt excited about the class at first, it became one of my favorites simply because of the enthusiasm Dr. Scarlett brought. Always be ready to defend your opinion!

He can be quite arrogant, but he does want everyone in the class to be on the same page. For a tech school he does not know much about tech, therefore the online quizzes and homework is not graded fairly because he does not understand how to set up a quiz.

Tim's lectures contain very bias material and more so the assigned reading material. Tim canceled class due to a "lack of participation." Then had material on the exam that we didn't cover in class, because we didn't have class. Tim puts himself up on a pedestal and talks down to the students during his lectures.

Very interesting person to listen to. The only thing difficult about the class is there is not much to grade on so make sure you do good on the movie papers. I would recommend taking his class over others that I have heard about.

Just an OK professor. He goes on random tangents that have nothing to do with the class. Says attendance is mandatory but only had 2 pop quizzes and no iClicker or sign-in. Exams are fairly straight forward. Not much to grade on, 5 papers and 2 exams. "Umm"s a lot and is easily distracted. Take someone else if possible.

Amazing teacher. Really interesting if you give the class a chance. Exams are simple if you connect old topics with new ones. I would take more classes from him if he was a professor in my field.

A good professor if you attend class and pay attention. Interesting speaker and knows what he's talking about. Essay tests aren't hard if you've gone to class and slightly paid attention.

A good speaker, definitely knowledgeable about the class content, and a not bad taste on movies. Your will enjoy his class if you are interested in "world culture",like me. However, choose another guy if not since his all-essay-exams are not easy.

Dr. Scarlett is a professional. He knows his stuff and knows how to teach it. He only gave all-essay exams, so if you don't go to class and watch the movies, you won't do well. Luckily if you do go to every lecture and watch every movie, you will know all the essays you need too. Not a hard class, and he can be very interesting.

interesting professor. nice guy who cares about teaching. every thing he talks about in class is on the exam. sometimes paying full attention for the entire 2 hours is a little difficult.. essays and essay exams are hard. you have to write EXACTLY WHAT HE SAYS.

Lectures can sometimes seem a little "what does this have to do with the unit." He umms and aahs quite a bit so if that bothers you a lot find someone else. If you go to the lectures and pay attention, exams aren't too difficult. TA's grade the papers for the class and grading can get a bit subjective.

He's an awesome speaker and I really enjoy his lectures. The movie days aren't my cup of tea (there's almost always violence and nudity), but he makes up for it by being a genuinely fun guy. Paper grading can be a little harsh, but oh well. From what I've heard, he's one of the harder World Cultures profs, but it's well worth it!
