Run or even fly if you are looking for an easy A. Lets be honest here, bad comments students who got bad grades. I got an A in this class because I love logic. However, I know that some students had to drop the class. You will not have any interactions with the teacher or other students since it is an online course. But you need to read.

Comment:

The grade is based on homework exercises, midterm (10% of the grade), and Final exam (20% of the exam). Both, the midterm and the final are just like the homework exercises. If you are looking to learn and think deeply to actually learn, I recommend this class because I loved it. Yet, if you are looking for an easy A, this class is not for you.

It is an online course. I love the course and it has nothing to do with the professor. There is almost no communication and all the assignments are automatically graded. Get ready to read a lot and spend hours doing the assignments. I have an A but I worked for it. If you are looking for an easy A.... RUUUUUN. He replies very fast to emails.

The guy spends classtime literally reading the textbook to you. That's it. That's the semester. The only grades are a midterm paper and a final paper, the former of which has still not been returned and the semester ends in 2 weeks. I have no idea if I'll pass or fail because the man grades on the timescale of a star's lifetime.

Burke is the worst teacher I've ever encountered. He doesn't seem to care about anything. He never tried to learn a student's name. He gave me NO feedback on an 8-page paper, yet it took him 6 weeks to grade it! The material was fascinating and he made me hate it. I can't believe he hasn't been fired after the evaluation I gave him.

I took this class online and would not recommend it (online.) It was basically a "teach yourself" course and was very confusing and stressful. The bulk of the grade was HW and it was either completely right or wrong, no partial credit. Final was not bad but was based on HW. Very difficult for a 100 level course.

I hate to be blunt, but this guy sucks at teaching. He knows his stuff, but he is completely in capable of sharing his knowledge with another human being. He paces the front of the room while muttering to himself the whole class. He gives quizzes that are "supposed" to be based on the readings, and requires a HUGE term paper for mid-term and final.

I really hated this class. I talk about it constantly. The entire class is just hw hw hw and in class Burke just goes over problems that you don't end up doing until a week afterwards. DO NOT GET BEHIND IN HW!! you will for sure fail the class if you do. he's awful at explaining things, but if you ask him for help he's actually really nice.

Tough course. Being mathematically inclined will help alot. At least go to lab as often as possible and keep up with all the homework. Largely computer based. Lots of puzzle/math type stuff to base PHIL roots on I guess.

TERRIBLE. I would never have him as a professor again. If you know what you're doing, you'll figure out a way to not have him at all. I didn't have a choice, I registered last. Anyway, he is not helpful, the TA's try but it's hard to understand. I could hardly stay awake in lecture. he's TERRIBLE.

This guy was the most illogical man I've ever encountered. He did not prepare for class... which would seem like a pretty good idea considering how hard the material actually was. Perhaps I'm biased but he also showed a distinct lack of respect to his students. Bottom line, he's a terrible teacher.

This class was awful!!! DO NOT TAKE IT!!! I wish I had looked at this site before I took this class, or I wouldnt have! He has no clue what he's talking about. The homework on the computer is confusing. The midterm was basically right from the study guide... if you knew the answers to that.
