Tom is a great guy, very smart. In class midterm and final, just two essays, extremely easy. Covers I and U gen eds. No textbook use, class not mandatory. Weekly one page paper took me 20 minutes.. Easy A.

Comment:

Pretty good class. Weekly papers that count as attendance but they're pretty easy to do. The lecture is okay but I feel like the TA, like in most classes, really makes the class. His notes are really just lists but his tests are easy so I can't complain. Really easy and good for basic requirements.

YES!!! was not really interested in labor before, but loved the class juravich was incredible, he really explained everything well and loved the class. there are weekly papers but they are really easy, just 2 double spaced pages. lots of readings but u really don't need to read them, i never did and Acing it. def take it Juravich rocks

Comment:

Had no interest in Labor prior to this class, took it just to fulfill a Gen Ed. It was a really good class. I learned so much (especially about Walmart) Readings were annoying at times, there are responses due every week 2pgs double spaced. I had a great TA (named Gabe) was VERY helpful and we had great discussions and it helped that he was hot ;-)

honestly this is such an easy class because juravich is great at presenting the material in an accesible way for people who may not be interested in labor studies. you can really learn something from this class. do the readings they dont take too long. my TA was great, that may make or break your experience. juravich is the man though

There are no surprises in this class. If you do the readings and listen to the lectures you will get an A. Very straightforward/accessible material. Highly reccomend if you want an easy A while learning the truth about our economy and the labor movement. This guy is the man. Your TA can make or break your experience though. I had a good one.

The class was alright, lectures are boring, readings are really annoying. You have to write a paper pretty much every week and the TA's grade everything. There's 2 essay exams. Just memorize what the TA's tell you is going to be on the exam and you're fine. But the class was a waste of time.

Good class. There is a definite marxist bias, but still the material is interesting. The more you write in the tests, the better you'll do. He occasionally misses class and has the TAs teach. Good lectures, OK powerpoint stuff.

meh....i mean the guy is a great speaker and the info is semi-interesting, but the TAs really succc and grade horribly. The grading system as a while is horrible. The tests seem easy, but then they expect you to write a novel. also, wayy to many readings, but you can BS the weekly papers

Juravich is the real deal. He is an authority in his field. Great class, interesting material. You could get by w/o doing alot of work (maybe thats why its an SOM elective), but the readings are intersting and the work is rewarding. TAs only seemed angry because they had classrooms full of collar-popping middle-managers-in-training. Take this class
