Make sure you do the assigned reading before class. She is a sweet lady, but if you don't have your work done, she will rip into you. She gives great insight into the books you discuss and provides a lot of real world experience. We read foreign books and she had been to most of the places we discussed. All in all, one of my favorite professors!

Too high of expectations for students. Loads of homework and readings (the books suck too). Calls on you randomly in class and freaks out if you're late. Attendance is mandatory. Has expected answers she wants to hear and if she doesn't agree with your opinion in your papers you'll fail. Overall, terrible class and you learn nothing about film.

she knows her stuff but is rather aloof. tonnes of reading + homework. usually has her own answers she expects to hear when discussing questions on the novel. would be a GREAT prof if she could understand her students' minds better. hate her choice of books but that's just my personal taste.

She is a good teacher but if you want to take her film class expecting to learn about film then don't. She knows very little about film. She knows a lot about history, politics, and literature and that's what she discusses. Her class title is misleading but it's still a pretty good class.

Dr. Adams is an amazing woman. She's a little quirky, but very passionate. She's tough, though. I had her for my freshmen honor's colloquium (literature vs. film) and it was one of the hardest classes I had. My friends in other sections said their classes were easy, but Dr. Adams' definitely isn't. You'll have to work hard--very hard--to get the A.

Very intelligent and knowledgeable in her subject. Her lectures are precise and often mixed with interesting anecdotes. It is imperative to read the material. Be an active participant in class and you will have a great experience overall.

Dr. Adams is BY FAR one of the best professors I've ever had at Kent. I learned a great deal from her this semester and would highly recommend you take a class with her if you can. She follows the syllabus closely (you never realize how nice this is until you have a prof that doesn't keep up with their own schedule), and she KNOWS HER STUFF.

She does have some good choice in books, but she made the mistake of starting the course off with a horrible book (Howard's End)... and expecting us to write more than one paper on it. Other than that, she's good, and very eccentric... just be wary of reading material.

She does have some good taste in books, but Howard's End is by far one of the most boring/horrible books I've ever read. She made us do 2-3 papers on it, and it was like pulling teeth. She's a good prof, but you have to be wary what she's teaching from.
