A very well respected and organized professor. Her lectures are straight forward and so are her assignments and the criteria for them. She is a fair marker and if you put in the effort she will reward you. You can resubmit assignments you did poorly on and there is take home exams! Very, very well taught class. My fav professor at York

She was great honestly. Figure out the writing style she wants & what she wants to hear and just repeat the same thing consistently. She also gives opportunities for you to boost your grade if you'd like. Be sweet to her and she will remember you. Just make an effort and show you care!

Horrible teacher. She is INCREDIBLY biased towards Indian students. There were three other students in the class who were not Indian, and we were treated very poorly. We were marked a lot harder and were given less opportunities. She graded me two grades lower than my partner in my presentation, we covered the same material. Worst prof, STAY AWAY.

At first I did not enjoy this class only because she was unclear with the parameters of the assignments but once I got into the swing of the class and decoded her grading methods getting an A was fairly simple. The only thing is that it was a course about India but the prof was unable to answer many of our questions about India.

Shes really polite and helpful, but she doesn't tell us what shes looking for and is very biased when marking. Course work is fair, but you must stay on her good side to actually have a good grade in the end. I wouldn't recommend her as shes not straight forward enough for anyone that doesn't have a knowledge of India to understand.

Totally enjoyed this class. Was surprised to have a Professor who treats her students with respect and is open to receiving information as well as giving it. She has her own opinions but encourages you to think critically and have your's too. Makes classes colourful with her anecdotes. Pleasant and wants you to pass/do well.

I thought her lectures were interesting especially compared to some of my other courses. The only thing is she assigns class presentations. each group must cover a whole lecture so about 3 hours, i didn't learn much from them and they were really hard to sit through. over all its an easy course is you attend lecture and do the readings.

worst class, She's useless, doesn't know how to teach or grade, all over the place with her marks, there is no consistency, stay away from her classes, very biased, teaches a class about india but has nothing useful to offer, she talks down about the country.. I don't know how she's still teaching

She is very opinionated and disorganized. But she is a very easy marker... depending on whether you are in her good books. Her marking scheme is very subjective.

She wasn't one of the best profs I had at York but not one of the worst either. I was at a C level after mid terms and talked to her about my mark, and she made me do another essay to supplement my existing marks. I found her to be a difficult marker and trust me, I really worked hard on those essays but I did end up with a B+

She started off the class by asking if we thought India is beautiful and then proceeded to say that she thought it was ugly. She is all over the place and is always giving her opinion on everything, she often gets her "facts" wrong. Easy marker, but lame class.

She really does not have much idea or objective about the subject. The only time she is clear is when she talks about her own experiences. Otherwise very boring and mundane and gives off the vibe she's just waiting to retire.

This is a course on feminism- but it not. Our lectures are ver boring and half the time it seems she doesn't know what she it talking about. Don't take this course if she is your professor. I have it for the rest of the year and I'm dreading it!

I expected more out of this course. It felt more like a history course rather than a social science course. she seemed not to have enough knowledge of other aspects of inda as we would have liked. as well she was very biased, and was not very helpful. stucture was lacking during class time.

A very biased professor who teaches a course entitled "Modern India". She may as well begin the course by stating, that she is a Hindu who holds Muslims in contempt. Since she holds the class as a captive audience, she spews her opinions as fac
