Comment:

Nice professor! Always combing knowledge of biology and real life together, which makes the class fun. Don't really need a text book. He gives us materials that are essential for homework and exams. One midterm exam and one final. Study aid writing more than one page is required for every week. The same as discussion board. One special project.

He understands that most people are there for the GE requirement (for the bio 300 class) so he ties everything into everyday life so that it has more of a purpose and correlation in our lives. It makes us more aware of the choices we are making as humans. Easy B, attainable A. Good teacher.

Amazing teacher, so nice and helpful. He really cares about your success. He covers a huge amount of complicated Bio content, but he breaks it down so clearly in his lectures it makes it easy. Simple HW, and 2 tests (with optional essays). He goes out of his way to show why Bio is relevant to you in your own life in these modern times. TAKE HIM!

Comment:

One of the easiest classes offered at ARC. I wanted to get a little Bio background before tackling the harder Bio classes, but this class made me a more aware citizen in the choices that I make. A highly interactive class makes for high interest. And the tests are easy, if you attend and participate in class and do the online quizzes and work.

Great class, I really enjoyed going every day. Definitely an eye opener and you walk away with practical knowledge of Biology and how it applies to us as everyday human beings. Prof. Davis makes the subject interesting and interactive, but not too technical so it is easy to follow.

If you are not a science buff but are interested in what is going on regarding biology and the world around you this is your class. I loved this class, it was unlike any other science class I've taken. He uses many current news articles in class which makes it an interesting class. I got an A and I usually get C's in science classes!

Excellent Professor. Almost everyone enjoyed coming to class and learning. No text book, only handouts. Tests are somewhat hard, but you can do assignments instead of midterms. Very interesting topics and discussions. Very unqiue and effective way of teaching.

Great teacher. He tries to help and make clear the topics. On tests, he will ask what he teach. The class though, is just foundation of Biology, so don't expect a hard-core class. This class focus more in how to use the basic biology knowledge for our daily life. Just BS, talk your way on the class, and you will get an easy A.

Student gets to determine components for 30% of grade. This could be a difficult class with all the potential biology vocabulary. Instructor doesn't require a lot of memorization and doesn't just shovel knowledge. Class is very interactive and students do a lot of group exercises in class to aid learning. I took this over the summer. I got an A in Lab & Lec you just have to be willing to become friends with everyone in the class. He calls 'em all "you're best buds" and A LOT of group work. so hope you get a good class.
