Comment:

Hewitt is a great professor and very knowledgeable. He mostly lectures and shows pictures and graphs but he makes it interesting. I just took notes on everything he said. The tests are essay form. You have to answer chapter questions before and after the midterm on a chapter of your choice. I did very well in his class and I'm not a his. major.

Dr. Hewitt is a self loathing liberal who evidently dislikes his country of residence. His class is not welcoming to other opinions, and there will be long periods of awkwardness when he starts talking about sex. How it manages to come up in every class, I don't know. He is tenured, so he uses class as his own political soapbox.

Dr. Hewitt is an amazing person and professor. He is so kind and caring. The subject matter that he focuses on has clearly taken a toll but it would for anyone in that field (genocide studies). My heart goes out to him and I would take him over and over again!

Honestly, the guy is alright. I was a little intimidated the first day thinking the class was going to be so hard but its okay. My only problem with him is that I thought i was going to get an A in the class and somehow got a B-. I handed everything in and i did well on the exams but still just a B-. Idk what happen..

I've taken so many different classes with this professor. Entry lvl history courses, to courses on History of the West, Genocides, ect... The guy is very educated, and extremely passionate about his topics. Plus, he's madd chill and easy to talk to. Yea, you should def do the readings and come to class as much as possible. You're set if you do that

Make sure you do well on the first two tests. If you can get at least a B you are exempt from the final. However this class is the most BORING class ever. Uses projector for the notes...useless. Read the chapter on your own and know terms, people, etc.

His tests are mostly essay and there are only three of them.The tests are on his lectures more than the book. If you go to all the classes and take the notes you wont need the book at all. Attendence isnt taken,but go as much as poosible. He is not boring at all wiht his lectures, and is very passionate and smart. Loved both classes i had with him

Dr. Hewitt is a really good teacher, lectures are interesting and fun and often has really interesting related articles to read. Tests are mostly essay and difficult but if you pay attention you can tell what topic he will choose as the main Essay and study up on it. BUT he does sometimes discuss his bad childhood waaaay too much.

He may be one of the smartest professors i've met here at west chester. you can tell that the man loves history and that he knows a whole lot. if you want to actually learn, this is the one guy who can teach you anything. if you want the gpa booster, then its a little bit of a stretch.

Very Boring Class...He doesn't really take attendance, so you can skip if you want... all he is does is ramble about the notes on the overhead. You constantly take notes every class, and when it comes time to take the test, they can be tricky. ..Mandatory two 2-page essays (which help your grade in the end). Not a BAD class, just really boring~
