Dr. Martin will forever be one of my favorite Professors. The man has an answer to everything you may have a question about (relating to literature) and he takes an interest in his students. He's forgiving and understanding with his students, but he's also not afraid to push them. 20/10 would recommend (especially since it took him 4 times)

Dr. Martin is the sweetest and most encouraging teacher I've ever had. His enthusiasm in class, insightful lectures, and love of the material he teaches made me choose to be an English major myself. Assignments and exams are generally not difficult if you do all of the readings, and he does not force participation. His classes are always enjoyable.

One of my favorie professors by far! He makes my 8am class interesting. He's grandpa hot. He tells great stories. He always makes you feel like your ideas are important and brilliant. He offers amazing feedback on papers and presentations. Would take any class he has to offer.

The best professor I've had at NU. I took him for an 8am, and I am not a morning person, but he always made me want to be awake for class. He makes lectures interesting and loves when you contribute an idea or analyzation. He pushes you to be a better thinker and writer, so the work is worth it! I took more of his classes since and love all of them

Dr. Martin is the most helpful professor I have encountered at NU. He is quick to respond to emails, he is a genuinely nice guy, and a fair grader. He makes poetry (something nobody really likes) actually interesting. His papers are pretty easy and he does not care about the length of your essays. You won't regret choosing him as your professor!

Dr. Martin is fantastic. I have had him in the past and plan on having him in the future. He is so learned in what he teacher and he will make you interested in poetry whether you like it or not. Guten Tag, Guten Tag, Guten Tag. A niagara diploma should not be issued if a course taught by him does not appear on your transcript.
