Most talented lecturer on the face of the planet. Take this class! He's amazing and will give a new perspective to the Holocaust. SO SO SO amazing. I took his class 5 years ago (I'm now in law school) and he still comes to mind when I think of amazing academic minds.

Professor Kansteiner is an amazing lecturer. He is so knowledgeable and at the same time hilarious. The readings are very long but actually quite interesting and the essays are tough as well. For the midterm your allowed to have a "cheat sheet" which makes them much more bearable. Make sure that you pick a good TA because they do the grading

At the graduate level, he professes at a more elevated level. The history department, in general, seems to expect incoming graduate students to be theoretically informed. He, and even many of the other history professors at SUNY Binghamton, seem to value Post-Modern theories and viewpoints over more mainstream Modern ones.

Such a great professor that makes the holocaust class great and interesting. He will teach you just about everything on the holocaust that you have never learned before making this class one of the best you will ever take at BU. Has great TA's. Too bad he's on sick leave for the year but will be back next year once he recovers from pneumonia.

His holocaust class in very interesting Cool guy and helpful. The TA''s are great but can be tough graders so be prepared to work for the grade. I would recommend this class to any history majorminor needing a European history class or an upper level history class.

Kansteiner is one of the best professors I've ever had. He is entertaining, engaging, & an incredible lecturer. The reading assignments are intense, the essays are challenging, but it's all rewarding in the end as you learn so much. Don't be late to class or he'll call you out on it. The Holocaust class is hard but I highly recommend it.

Kansteiner is an excellent professor, by far the best in the history department. Extremely well versed in his knowledge of history and a legend in the history department. Although some may find his papers and subjects tough, overall it is a great course and definitely one of the best courses taught at Binghamton. Take this course with this man.

One of the best history courses I have taken at Binghamton. Kansteiner is an amazing orator and is an expert on holocaust studies. It is more than just a class; it was an experience that me and many people in the class looked forward to. The only downside was that a few of his lectures on memory were too complex for me, and the essays were tough.

"Cultures of Catastrophe" was amazing. Kansteiner does not give much guidance but that feeling of doing independent work really made me feel like a historian. Passionate, intelligent, and funny. Without a doubt my favorite professor.

Wulf is a great professor. He knows the material very well and can explain it clearly and coherently. However he needs to implement a grading rubric, because the TAs grade indiscriminately. For instance you can be an A student and receive C level papers. Papers are graded particularly on style instead of content, which is extremely frustrating.

Kansteiner is an incredible professor!! I would advise everyone to take his classes! His lectures are interesting and he delivers the information extremely well. My TA was quite a harsh marker but the the other 2 were not. If you have the chance to take this class, or any class with Kansteiner, I definitely would!

one of the most talented professors at Binghamton. However, the class is very difficult. For the amount of work I put in I felt I my grade should have been higher. The TA's are kind of jerks, and they grade hard (more so than they should in my opinion). Lots of reading. Worthwhile class to take!!

not a hard class, but this guy seriously thinks the world revolves around him. he'll waste 10 mins complaining about someone's 30 second 1 time lateness. funny at 1st but gets old real fast.

He is very funny and his lectures are good because he knows his stuff. However, the TAs are hard greaters. They want your paper to not only be a good History paper but a good English paper(theye emphasize word choice, passive tenses, etc). Also for a point, they really won't give you that higher grade. There is tons of reading so be prepared!

This guy is a great professor. Funny as hell and makes you want to participate. Don't show up to class late or you'll be sorry. As for the first exam, you don't need to show up to class at all. Just come to the test review for the terms and wikipedia them and you'll get a B+ and above. Choose the right TAs too.
