Honestly, I did not have the same experience as everyone else. The language barrier and pace was unreal to me. I had a very large, opinionated class. Not for me. 3/10. You'll have to teach yourself.

Professor Ying Mao is absolutely amazing! She always works with her students, and won't move on to the next subject until everyone understands what she's teaching. She notices hard work, and respects all of her students. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking to take chem or chem 2.

Chemistry is a heavy lecture course but Prof Mao makes it easy and clear to understand. She is very enjoyable to listen to and throws in little jokes to make class fun.

Professor Mao was AWESOME! She gives out homework sets that are very similar to the actual exams. She likes to answer questions and is there for you if you need help. As long as you study for the exams and do ALL the homework set questions, you should get an A!

Absolutely amazing. She has homework sets that are exactly the same on test. She learns all of her students names because she wants you to succeed. Taking her again for Chem II!!

She is truly a gem! She gives homework sets in class & you complete them as shes lecturing so that way the information actually sticks. Those questions are the same as those on the tests. Showing up is recommended because at the end of the semester you get two points added to your grade for perfect attendance, (an 88 overall grade would be a 90).

Professor Mao is absolutely amazing! Cares about her students a lot, wants everyone to pass. Her lectures are very interesting, she finds a way to explain even the most boring material in an interesting and fun way! 100% would take her again. She made me like chemistry which I hated in high school. Take her, and you will not regret it!

Okay, so yes you should do the homework, but this lady is the nicest person in the world. If you can see beyond a slight accent you will love her, she will love you, and you will get an A. Yes participation/attendance is a must, but her in class work is literally verbatim the test.. So it's cake!

Had professor Mao last semester. She is hard to understand at first, but you'll later realize that she goes out of her way to help students understand. She is a nice lady, & lectures really good. Her exams are not hard if you spend the time to study and understand the material. I would recommend her. I also suggest outlining the textbook. it helps.

Mrs. Mao is an excellent teacher. She cares very deeply for her students. She wants her students to do well and will go out of her way to help you. Chemistry is not an easy class you must put in the effort and study. Mrs. Mao gives you everything you need its up to you what you do with it. Do the work and study you will pass. Great teacher!!

I had Prof Mao for Chemistry II and I love her! Although, she is Chinese for the most part you can understand her. Chemistry was never my strong suit, but she goes over everything you need to know and explains it well. If you have any questions she'll answer them, and you can tell that she's really there for. But you have to work for your grade!

She does not give you extra credit work. Doesn't sympathize for any student, and does unfair grading when a student tries to correct her. Bad accent hard to understand, but if you read the homework that will be part of the test. I wouldn't recommend this professor to anyone. Because the grade that you can get is only B or C higher only.

Awesome professor! A true teacher in every sense of the word. She wants her students to do well and gives 110% effort to get you through the class. Pay attention & take notes. Dr. Mao is difficult to understand until you get used to being in her classroom, but what she lacks in audible clarity she more than makes up for in her genuine interest in her students' succss. Mao is an extremely good professor however, she is hard to understand. Chemistry is my weak point for me even with a ton of tutoring. Personally, she does teach fast but she is willing to help. If you're a slow learner like me, ASK QUESTIONS! So far, best professor I've had at CCC.

BEST PROFESSOR AT CCC! She is such a cute lady. Very Helpful. I will definitely be taking her class for Chem2. She wants her students to do well. YOU MUST ATTEND ALL CLASSES. You will be lost if you miss one, but that goes for any science class. LOVE HER! =)

Dr. Mao hands down is the best teacher. I had her for CHM 101 last sememster and got a B in her class. Yes she may be hard to understand but the example she uses makes it easy to understand. She doesnt have a problem answering questions. Test are fair..mostly from the homeworks she gives so do the hw sheets cause some questions will be on the test
