Came into this class worried I would struggle greatly in Calc. Yitang (Tom) is an amazing teacher and made learning calculus seamless. Funny guy as well. Would definitely recommend anyone to take this class. If you actually show up to lectures and try in this class you will succeed in tests and assignments.

Tom (for short) is a great man with a great love of math. He made calc very fun for me and I enjoy it so much now! I skipped a lot of his lectures but I still did very well in his class. His accent is not hard to understand at all, and yes i recommend sitting in the front.

I love Yitang. He tells you to call him Tom. He is helpful, smart and makes so much sense. The tests are easy, just go to class! You won't regret having him. Also sit in the front. He has side conversations with the front people, it makes calculus less scary.

Tom was an amazing professor. He made everything clear during his class and was very nice. Some people didn't go to the lecture and only went to the recitation and still received a good grade. I went to both and it was more helpful for me. It wasn't hard for me to understand him and you get used to his accent. Best professor I've had for math!!!

I love Tom (as he goes by), and will be sad to see him leave since he published his twin primes work. I had him some years ago now but felt the need to rate him so that students at his future school can come and see UNH's testament as to his awesomeness as a professor/lecturer. Future student, I'm 99.9% sure you'll enjoy his class

Tom is awesome!! he's so funny if you actually show up to lecture and is very clear with his teaching. However you can get an easy B even if you dont show up, just go to the recitations...so easy! loved him!

Tom is the best calc teacher. He goes slowly enough so that everything is very easy to understand. You don't even really have to go to his lectures. Just go to the TA's meetings. Tom's great though.

The recitations were really helpful from the TAs and even though i've already taken calculus i understood better in this class. Hard to understand what he's saying but has good handwriting and the notes on the board are what helps. Easiest tests and quizes yet in college. 97% in the class

In class he is a great lecturer. However, outside of class he isnt very helpful at all and is actually quite rude (he closed the door on my face once when I was in line for getting help because his office hours had JUST closed...) However, if you pay attention to his lectures, and make good use of the TA, it will be a breeze. He grades fairly.

He is an excellent teacher. Once you get used to his accent you will do just fine. Easy class as long as you take good notes, do the homework and most importantly attend TA classes throughout the week. Exams are easy as long as you complete worksheet.

Calc for social sciences. Took Calc I as senior in HS. Very easy class for me, not sure tho if you're taking calc for first time. Good sense of humor in class, private outside of class. Sometimes tough to understand, but he tries. Words he cant pronounce very well r common words in class, youll get them in time. Canceled class day b4 Thanksgiving.

I was stuck in pre-calc by accident, but this guy is pretty funny. He can't pronounce things well (ex, p-theorem for pythagorean). He's not nice outside of class, but do the review quizzes and you should be fine. Easy course.

The way he explains math is with math. He derives what he is doing, and if you understand that and pay attention you should be fine. His exams are verbatim from the review sheet. SO DO THE REVIEW SHEET. Ta's can be good or bad depending. Not very nice outside of class, but hilarious inside class. Definitely take math with him.

Don't let his accent scare you away. This dudes exams are worth staying. His practice exams are his almost the same as the actual exam. My grade so far on the 3 exams have been 98, 92, 100. AND I HATE MATH. Worth it to take it with him. P.S he seems wicked nice during lecture but is actually kinda mean one on one. DOESN'T matter, take it with him!
