He is using a software is called Lockdown browser that you have to show your id and turn your laptop four angles . His first midterm was similar to the quiz and practice, but the final was hard because some of the students tried to cheat on the midterm . The class is about how to use Assembly Arm language NOT MIPS You better to study and learn C .

His teaching is not always relevant, but I do feel like I learned a lot and I do not feel that is a result from my own studying. He often shows you coding examples in class which is super important to learning coding. His hw often reappears as a variation on the test. Also there was a PHAT curve. My weighted average was a 76%, ended up with an A.

His class is a joke. 90% of your grade is based on tests. His lectures are mediocre at best since he never goes through examples. The test scores were so low and there was a giant curve. Also, there is minimal knowledge of how to code in assembly on the internet which makes this class even harder. Homework was challenging.

Adding on to the most recent review before mine: 90% of the course grade is based on tests. The homework seemed foreign due to his lectures not being about ARM Assembly Language code. He lectured most about topics that weren't code, and it turned out about 90% of our grade revolved around knowing how to code in assembly. But his lectures are funny.

Really set my sights for an A in this class. Attended every single class, and was super attentive, but ended up with B-. Yusuf may be funny in class, and want the best for his students, but he is not the greatest professor. He gives 0 practice/solved codes outside of homework, and office hours didn't help. Prepare for a FAT curve in the end.

THIS CLASS IS NOT AS HARD AS PEOPLE THINK. Honestly a lot of students in this class complained about how hard it was but never showed up for a lecture. I mean what do you expect? Go to lecture and pay attention and you won't even have to study much. The class HEAVILY curved down because a lot of students don't know the material. Good Lectures!

He is very unorganized. For example he said there would be a test on sunday, and then didnt post it. He emailed a student and told him he would put it up the next day (monday). Monday comes around and the quiz isnt posted. On thursday he posted three quizzes due that night. Has skype office hours, but might not add you until the end of semester.

Not sure what he is like as a professor in class, but in his lectures and emails, he is very helpful and very good at teaching. He is very clear and precise and if you still don't understand the material, he replies fairly quickly through his emails or skype in order to help you understand C and assembly. Best professor in the pre-major so far.

Really make sure your C code is good or you'll have a hard time. Assembly is pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Homework's are really hard. Midterms is worth 30% of your grade, and the final is 40%, which are based off last years exams (That he posts on BB). Don't "wing" the midterms. Don't expect an A, but then again no one does.

He Does a Good job in providing enough material for you to learn, the people that dont pass this class is because they dont take the time to review or they never practice assembly. Test are hard but he provides the review exams fro previous years. The book is very helpful

I'm deadly serious when I say I have heard him say that he doesn't want to teach. He is here for research, plain and simple. Teaching comes second to Dr. Ozturk. The turnaround time for grading assignments is erratic and can be as long as 2 12 months (this was the case for me this semester). But for CompE 271 he is the only teacher so deal with it

Excellent Professor. Great concept of giving assignments. "Design & then code". Encourages use of Git-hub. Has great knowledge about the subject. But the subject is little boring apart from the design & coding part. You have to work extremely hard to get grades. Don't take the course if you are not ready to work hard which may result in bad grade.

This class is not hard unless you are lazy. I didn't know C well at all. Just pay attention to how to translate C to assembly and you will be fine it is not difficult unless you are lazy. But overall he's a good professor and easy to pass just pay attention.

This professor is very difficult and exams are rough. Be prepared for the first few classes he uses an entrance exam to weed out students who do not understand the basics of C and binary. You will spend most of your time using assembly but having a strong background in C will make this class a lot easier to pass.
