You will never find a professor more motivated to advance students to graduate school through undergrad research. Her time commitment to student research is unbelievable, even though she can be a lot to deal with at times, she really cares about her students success in advancing their careers.

Doing research with Dr. Gagnon is stressful, but completely worth it. She cares for each of her students, and wants them all to become successful scientists. She tries to publish papers with as many students as possible and make sure that everyone had hands-on experience. If you want to do undergrad research, she's the only professor for you.

She reuses old tests year after year so if you can obtain an old exam you essentially have the test. Her test questions can be extremley vague and open ended but yet she wants a specific answer. She will grade you based on if she likes you. She liked me and gave me hundreds on everything even though i left several answers blank.

Comment:
Dr. Gagnon is interesting to say the least. She has a thick accent which is hard to understand at first, the syllabus does not matter as she makes things up as she goes, and don't bother buying the textbook as you'll never use it. That being said the class is ridiculously easy, just occasionally listen to her rambles in class and you'll get an A.

Comment:
Gagnon is an adorable, Polish lady with a strong accent. All her tests are based on the notes that she says in class. Write everything she says, even what you don't think is important because it will most likely be on the test. The class is hard and if you don't study, you won't pass. The practical is hard too so study! She does give extra credit.

Comment:
Gagnon is a very intelligent woman, but sometimes the things she says aren't the same as the textbook (Not really required, though). Her tests are all about what she SAYS, not exactly what's in the powerpoint. Write everything she says, and you'll be okay. Her thick Polish accent can make her hard to understand, but if you ask, she'll spell things.

AS LONG AS you copy down everything she says you will do well. Her tests are more about what she talks about in class not about the powerpoint notes or the notes she hands out. If you can't understand her accent, just ask and she will spell it out on the board. Overall she is a funny teacher and class was a lot more interesting than expected.

Dr. Gagnon is the most helpful professor I have had at Marist. She truly cares about her student's future and if you are are serious she'll go above and beyond to help you. Her course offers practical lab experience and she is one of the only professors that supervises graduate-level research. Im thankful to have developed a relationship with her

Dr. Gagnon can be a little scary, but she's pretty nice. She has an accent and is a bit hard to understand sometimes, but it shouldn't be a problem - she's usually clear enough. You have to stay alert during class - she'll often mention something that won't be in the notes but will appear in quizzes/tests. Overall a very good professor.

Has a heavy polish accent and can be mean, but very funny too. Class is fairly hard but youll do fine if you study. 3 tests, final and 4 quizzes. Shes very subjective so be nice to her and stay on her good side. Doesnt know how to grade. Always got 10+ xtra pts on test for no reason. Very smart and does lots of research. Lab practical is impossibls

She can be a little hard to understand at first, but don't let it scare you. She knows so much information, and you will definitely learn a lot. It is not an easy class, but study and you'll be fine. She is a very funny person once you get to know her.

She is a nice lady that means well but it is an annoying class. In the beginning you will hate her but gradually you will start to be able to understand her thick polish accent. Lab is awful and boring and the lab practical is ridiculous! But the lecture tests are not bad. Good Luck! Just study a lot and pay attention to her hints.

During the lecture, she gives out all the lecture notes to each student because she knows some students will struggle with her polish accent. So, if you have a problem understanding her, all you need to do is study her lecture notes. You have to study for her class (it is biology after all) althought her lecture seems to be easy.

weirdest lady ever, she doesn't teach, she makes lecture notes and basically reads them out to you for an hour and 15 minutes. she doesn't use the board at all, unless she can't pronounce a word and just spells it out on the board. nice lady, but hard tests compared to her teaching quality. don't take her if you have a choice.

She seems crazy at first but as the semester goes on she's actually a really nice person. I like her style of lecture because she doesn't write any notes on the board, you just listen and fill in a note sheet that she provides. I cant stand writing on a chalk board or powerpoint. Also, shes extremely eccentric which makes class interesting.

She is a little hard to understand. Be nice to her or you won't do well in the class. Always show her you are working hard for the class. She is a very subjective grader so better stay on her good side. She can be quite mean at times you just have to get used to it. She is funny at times.

This woman sucks at first, she seems really hard and evil, but at the semester progresses, she warms up to you a little bit. She's not so bad, as long as you're nice to her and when she asks you if you've been in the lab studying, lie and tell her you did.
