Ug, sure he's nice and everything, but there isn't much teaching going on...mostly we read some nice little stories, have some vapid, long winded discussions on them, and in creative pieces, and watch our classmates "violate" these submissions (the workshops have no adult supervision). Workshops were more intensive in my introductory courses.

Aaron does a great job using various methods of workshops with the whole class, with small groups, and one-on-one feedback, and the texts we read for class are all interesting. He expects you to read and WRITE, and to actively apply what's discussed in class to your writing. A patient, professional teacher!

He's a great professor! He's always available for office hours and after class conferences. As for feedback, he's patient and will explain exactly what you should do with your draft. I would definitely take him again!

He has good ideas but doesn't give you nearly enough feedback on your writing. I didn't improve at all in his class and I really wanted to. Later I took other teachers who were much better.

First class with Aaron was great, but this one? Not so much. Got locked into a crappy group the first day of class, so the only good feedback I've gotten has been from him. Small groups= not getting to read everyone's work=not getting to know anyone. I prefer the old set up. If you already know your "Aaronisms"(plate spins, etc), nothing new here.

Aaron is a great fiction teach. @ 1st people were paired off, class got annoyingly noisy when everyone spoke at once. That's just for a few wks. He assigns things that aren't clear but you get layouts with the asgmts. There's lots to read n even more to write. I learned 'bout three things, which were things I'll always cherish.

Aaron is really nice & very helpful, but his class is a bit dull when compared with other workshops. He tries to help, but he does not arrange the class so that there are multiple workshops/student, so you get very limited feedback. I heard good things, & honestly, I was disappointed in the quality of the class, while still liking him as a person.

Very friendly, very easy going, and very good at opening up and diving into ideas (especially ones offered by students in the class). Great discussions and fun story selections. Helped boost my confidence in the creative writing field.

I loved Aaron's class. He's extremely helpful, and doesn't discourage anyone, he only tries to help you do better. I never felt like I could not accomplish my goals in his workshop. He's open to ideas and suggestions, and accepts that he doesn't know everything. He creates a great non-pressure environment.

Aaron is a terrific teacher. He's laid-back, easy-going and has insightful comments to help with writing. He showed a lot more professionalism than a previous creative writing teacher I had. His class entails turning in two original stories and two responses to readings. I personally think he could even stand to give more work...

Aaron was a fabulous teacher. I wasn't very interested in reading plays when we started, but he made me want to as the class continued. We even had class outside a few times. I would definitely take him again if the opportunity arose.

Very nice professor, and will do whatever to help. Class sounded hard at beg. but he grades pretty easy on his papers. If you put a lot of thought into your paper, its a guaranteed A or B.

TAKE THIS CLASS! several short writing assignments on very thought-provoking readings. 3 essays based on movies watched in class, but you pick your own topic. don't have to worry about your 'final grade' on a paper--he allows you to revise and will adjust your grade accordingly.

Very easy. Go to class, watch intersting movies (Fight Club, Virgin Suicides Do the Right Thing), talk about it in class, write an essay. That's basically what you do. It's an easy A. No complaints at all.

This class is not easy. The class is for non-native speaker, however, I think it is more difficult than the class for native speaker. I think maybe you can take the class for native speaker class. It is also good for internation student.
