Most of our class sessions were spent listening to Quintanar talk because none of us wanted to participate. It was a struggle to sit through the class. The course material wasn't super challenging, he was just extremely bad at explaining it. I think he'd be better at teaching advanced Spanish classes for native speakers.

Great professor. Demonstrates clear interest and love for Spanish language. Possesses a grasp of the subject that surpasses textbook lessons. He is very unclear, his assignments are over a page long. Before his class, Spanish was my favorite subject, now I dread coming to class. He's extremely condescending and rude. My language skills are getting worse with him!

I worked really hard in Quintanars class, and that is the only reason I did well in it. His grading isn't that difficult but his tests can be brutal. He was extremely unhelpful and barely ever was abe to answer our questions and was never straighforward with anything. Very unorganized and he makes spanish boring. Don't take him

Okay, here's the deal. I had Quintanar last year and liked him. I had him this year and liked him less. The main problem with Quintanar is that, regardless of accuracy, he expects papers to basically regurgitate whatever he has said in class without any variation whatsoever. Also, his grading style is arbitrary. Not so much unfair as just arbitrary

Quintanar is an interesting guy. He's pretty cool, very laid back and somewhat funny. However, the syllabus he wrote for the course I took was confusing and misleading, and I'm not the only one who thought that; basically everyone in the class agreed. That aside, he's a really good professor. Wants everyone to speak confidently and learn a lot.

WORST PROF I HAVE EVER HAD!!!!!!I used to LOVE Spanish, but his class has made me hate it! It's really unfortunate, because I did learn a lot, but he's an awful professor. He mumbles,isn't clear, is lazy, shows up to class late, and forced us to come in early and on the day we weren't supposed to have class. DON'T TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN AVOID IT!!!!!
