She's a great teacher, but you HAVE to do your readings to do well on the quizzes/tests. She is a lecture teacher and does not have outlined notes. Make sure you understand the chapters and ask questions when you need to. She's intimidating and her lectures are confusing at times, but keep up with your readings, do your work and you'll be fine.

Hozic is an incredible individual & professor. Compassionate towards students & highly educated. Loves questions & almost always responds to them in a way that is valuable for the entire class. 13 miniquizzes, 1 midterm (in class), & 1 final (take home). Not a harsh grader & and if you have genuine interest in int. politics/IR - she's a must have

Professor Hozic was one of the most respectful and passionate teachers I have had at UF. Their are a lot of readings each week, but you can get by skimming to do the weekly assignment (although the readings are very interesting). There are three 2000 word papers due at the end of the semester and no exams!

Dr. Hozic cares a lot about the students and always gives good feedback on your work, and any questions you have in general. Dr. Hozic has gone out of her way to make sure that students are okay. She is available to meet outside of class whenever you need it. You will be reading a lot and working hard, but also learning a lot. Fantastic professor.

One of the most approachable professors I have ever had. Gives excellent feedback and makes the material relatable! Taking one of her other courses next semester.

Dr. Hozic is a well-spoken woman with a unique past; Good Life is notorious for being a terrible class, but I enjoyed Hozic's lectures. Those that say that her accent is hard to understand probably didn't grow up around people of other cultures b/c her English is 100% fine. You can tell she is smart and knows much about literature and the arts.

IUF1000 is so structured by UF that the actual professor you get doesn't seem to matter much. That being said, Hozic wasn't spectacular, but she seemed to just follow what the university told her to teach considering it's a mandatory class.

Dr. Hozic is a very sweet woman who seems to really care about her students' well being. Lectures are pretty boring and her accent is hard to understand at first. Course material isn't hard though, just make sure you keep up with the reading, especially if you are taking it over the summer, where everything is packed in. And don't skip class!

Her class isn't too fun, but neither are any good life classes. From speaking with many peers, it IS evident that her homework and exam questions are FAR EASIER than those of the other professors. She is also extremely accessible if you need help with anything, class related or not. She's a boring lecturer, but lectures aren't important anyways.

She is a genuinely nice lady. Her accent is relatively strong, but you'll get used to it. Her lectures can get a bit boring (probably because they were good life lectures), but she still cared about what she was teaching.

Professor Hozic is one of the best professors in the Poli Sci Department and made my time as a Poli Sci major much more enjoyable. She knows a ton about pretty much any subject and has a great wit, both making her classes very interesting, no matter the subject at hand. I had her for Divided Cities and Politics of the World Economy. Take a class.

Can be difficult to understand, due to accent. Got off topic very easily. I don't dislike her, so much as the class was fairly pointless.

Dr. Hozic knows what she is talking about but she does get off-topic very easily. There is some reading so make sure to stay on top of everything. Also, some points will come solely from attendance to discussion and lecture sections! Do your readings and you should easily get an A. All readings are online.

I had professor Hozic as my lecturer for good life and it was honestly hard to pay attention in class. It is clear that Hozic knows what she's talking about, but she is prone to going off on irrelevant tangents during lecture. I would not recommend having her as a lecturer but it is fairly easy to get an A with her in IUF1000.

Dr. Hozic is brilliant, and she truly cares about her students. I would take her again, BUT not for a class like theory (i.e. theory-heavy reading). She is an awful lecturer, but she does make you think & she sparks interesting discussions. The amount she cares about her students makes up for the bad lectures. She is a no BS type person....

I wouldn't take a class with her again. Her communication skills are poor and she seems unhappy in and out of class. There were some good aspects to her course, but overall she lacks patience and generally seems frustrated. Her inflexibility, rigidness, and lack of clarity makes her difficult to work with. I am a graduate student.

Absolutely terrible professor. No clarity, consistency, true method, or substantial material. Her exams were disconnected from lectures. She tries to "open your mind" but instead instigates quarrels and ridiculous debates unrelated to the class. Just plain awful. Worked too hard for my A.

If you are Republican, do not take her classes. She is very liberal, and unless you are right-wing and really no your stuff and can articulate well, then don't take it because she will destroy right-wing orthodoxy pretty harshly. If you want to put in the work and are smart enough, a Republican can get an A, but it is harder.

Dr. Hozic is SO intelligent, nice & funny. At first, class is difficult to adjust b/c she pushes for open discussions from readings & ur opinions, making u confused on what u are "learning" abt. Lecture isn't "systematic" where u write all period but based on participation. Only 3 papers- MUST WRITE WELL! Read, attend class, talk & u will get an A

DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS. 3 EXAMS AND A FEW REPORTS. THE REPORTS ARE EASY BUT HER TESTS HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH LECTURES. IF YOU TAKE HTIS CLASS AND YOU DO ALL THE REPORTS BUT YOU DON'T DO SO WELL IN HER EXAMS! DROPPP ITTT!!! TRUST ME YOU MIGHT THINK YOU'LL PASS BUT HER FINAL EXAM WORST THEN THE FIRST TWO.
