Out of the nine professors I've had at Hofstra, Dr. Michaels is easily the best. Prior to taking her class, I was nervous because I had heard that she was very tough. I actually found her to be not so tough and her exams were not as difficult as everyone had said they would be. Also, in class, she goes very slow and explains everything very well.

She is a nice teacher but a very hard grader. If you had a different teacher for 71 don't take her, her teaching style is different from other professors and she writes very fast and she expects you to remember everything from 71, so if you were mediocre in that class don't expect to do well in hers.

I took her for Calc 1 and made sure to take her for Calc 2. She is super sweet, accommodating, and will do her best to help you. She encourages questions and will always answer until the student is satisfied. To do well in her classes, do the homework, ask questions, and go to class! She does her best to teach a hard subject, but she is fair.

She is such a sweet woman. She really cares about her students and wants them to do well...the only thing is the work is hard and she is a hard grader. Her office hours are very helpful. Take her!! SHe is soo sweet!

Easiest teacher ever!! my high school pre-calc teacher was 3 times harder than her. She explains everything well and as best as she can. Her tests/quizzes were easy and she was extremely helpful...nicest teacher!

Michaels is a nice teacher but she is really unfair when it comes to test and quizzes and she grades really hard. She does not do reviews and her in examples she does fairly easy problems but come test time she gives the difficult ones. I manage a b- because im good in math but could of gotten a higher grade. If you struggle in math avoid her.

Good professor, but hard tester. She tends to come out of left field with test questions so a well rounded knowledge of the material is a necessity. She also doesn't do reviews for tests or the final so be prepared to study hard for a good grade, however final was pretty straight forward.

Prof. Michaels is a great teacher. The material is obviously difficult but she did everything she could to make it easy for us. The tests/quizzes are basically the questions she gives for homework. She is really nice and understanding. Definitely take her if you get the chance!

Great Professor and very nice! The class is not too bad either, just a continuation of Calculus but in 3D. Tests/quizzes not so bad if you actually study, but if you do your best, def going to get a good grade!

Dr. Michaels is one of the best teachers at this school. She is soo nice and helpful with any questions. You have to go to class but she makes the class go by quickly and painlessly. She is awesome!!

I have no idea why anybody would be negative about Dr. Michaels, she is so nice to her students and she tries her hardest to conform to the class. We took 3 take home test because the class suggested it, not her! She does get confused quite a bit of time but advanced calc is difficult to teach. I had her for a year and is my favorite professor ever

Excellent Professor and total sweetheart! People have difficulty with her class because the class itself is difficult. She goes beyond the call to accomidate you if you are having trouble. Do your homework and ask questions if you don't understand and you'll do great. P.S chapter 10 sucks

Nice woman, sweetheart. Everything is fair, if you are good at calc the class won't really give you any problems, but many students did have trouble along the way. The tests cover what seems to be a lot of material, and I HATE chapter 10!

Only prof to take calc with. She is the nicest and one of the most brilliant people I have ever met. I got an A in her class and I had no calculus background. I did every single homework and UTILIZED THE OFFICE HOURS A LOT!!! Be prepared to work you a** off though
