Great professor, well organized, very knowledgeable and patient. This was my first online course and I was totally worried but Professor G was very helpful in explaining what was expected and he send out advance notice of the material that would be needed for class This is the best online course I have ever taken.

Comment:

Al Gotay's boxing class improved my skills by a ton. He's very accomplished and has a ton of experience. He can be strict and blunt and trains his students hard, this isn't basic cardio, expect to sweat. There was one paper and it was quite easy. Expect an A and better fighting skills from this course. Great guy and excellent teacher.

Most organized class, I took the class online and he responded so quickly to everything Including grades. He gives 10 weekly discussion questions about 250 words, a mid term paper about 900 words, and a final 1000 words.

Sensei Gotay was my karate instructor back in the day at JJC. He inspired me to do what I believed was impossible. He showed me that everything is possible if you put your mind to it. Altho I was thin, I could barely run laps, do sit ups or push ups...within a very short time period I was in tip top shape doing hundreds of sit ups/push ups.

Took his intro to boxing class. It was Awesome! In this class i got a great workout and learned a good amount of techniques and combinations. There is only one written assignment which is pretty easy, and towards the end of the semester you are graded on the moves you learned and he was pretty easy on the grades.

ped110 online course. We did weekly discussion questions 250-300 word limit. Midterm paper, about 3 page limit and the final term paper is about 4-5 pages. You will need the textbook for the discussion questions. You get to choose the topic for both papers, just make sure it relates to the topic he wants. This was a easy A!

Gotay is a very experienced fighter and his training regime in the class really shows it. He's funny and suprisingly powerful. He is helpful and really wants you to learn the techniques. The class will def make you sweat. I recommend his class if you want a serious workout or want to get into boxing.

Took him for boxing and let me say wow!I thought this was going to be a joke or laid back,uhhh no!This class is fun bc i was serious about boxing.it's a lot of hard work,you sweat your jollies off.This is like(wrestling) but punching.looking for an easy gym class,not it.he made us run on the track and sweat like crazy. U get 2 sparr which was sick!

This is my second time taking gotay, and his teaching style is the same for all his courses. DO NOT buy the book, his quizzes and tests are all his notes. Though ped 103 is a lecture class, be advised, one out of the two days you meet a week, you will be working out the whole semester.Funny guy, 4 pg. paper, drops lowest quiz...EASY
