Comment:

Guy is a bonafide legend in digital image and video processing, but is very down to earth and fun in class. His course basically covers a history of basic image processing techniques, leading up to his seminal paper on Structural Similarity (SSIM) Index. Ingeniously offers opportunity for students to contribute to his research for extra credit.

Comment:

Great Professor. Passionate about the coursework, and challenges on an individual basis. My only negative comment is that I'm not quite sure about how his grading system works - was confident of an A going into the final, but somehow slipped into B territory. Never received the test back, but it seemed like his grading was very qualitative.

Dudes and Dudettes, this class is the most educational and fun class I took at UT. Bovik kicks ass. Visual examplss, fun illusions, live demos, great jokes and the best lecturer I have ever seen.
