Comment:
Dr. Simmons is a great professor. His lectures are all 100% lecture (meaning no powerpoints) but he tells you just about everything you need to know in these lectures, so take notes. He repeats a lot of stuff, which also helps. He made the theories really easy to understand. Exams are easy, he lets you pick which questions to answer. Easy A class.

Dr Simmons is a cool guy. An acclaimed archaeologist who really knows his stuff. That being said, I did not find his class very engaging. No powerpoints or anything, his style is 100% classic lecture. I have a hard time with that. Other than that, pretty easy class. A group project and two short answer tests. Pay attention and you'll do fine.

Bad syllabus w/ no information as to class structure beyond broad terms. Emailed him for help and he never responded. Lectures are entertaining, but confusing as to what will be on test. Really wish I would have dropped this class. Won't be taking another from him.

Dr. Simmons showed his professionalism and experience throughout the course. He takes the time to cover concepts missed by students and makes sure you grasp the big picture in mind. Interested in archaeology, or simply have to take an archaeology class, Dr. Simmons is the right choice. Other assistant/associate professors cannot touch his skill.

Maybe the undergrads are scared of him, but I like his style. This class is the Near East prehistory course. 1 midterm, 1 paper, 1 quiz, and 1 final. Straightforward and fair grader, seems nice too. Would recommend to all who needs an upper division anthro class.

Clueless, his lectures are stuck in time, years ago, in a galaxy far, far away. He needs to subscribe at a minimum to National Geographic and Science and spend some time reading them.

He's definitely inflated with his own sense of superiority. He's the type of professor who forgets that he's an employee of the state...hired by the very people he so easily dismisses.

Easy A. Expect lots of corny archaeologist jokes. The slides and movies were actually interesting. It was hard not to love his geeky style.
