Dr. Ravandi is an outstanding professor. Some students told me not to take his class but I soon learned that was because they were lazy students who just wanted a handout for a grade. I actually LEARNED how to do math. He was willing to help me when I struggled with some concepts until I was 100% comfortable and could successfully complete them!

Ravandi teaches based on what we should have been taught in lower math classes. He is a fair grader, always show as much work as you can, even if you don't fully understand a problem. Don't base tests off reviews- do them but go over all notes. Take notes well. ASK QUESTIONS IF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND!!!! He won't spoon feed you, but he will help you.

Please don't take my rating as too much of a negative. I feel I was completely honest. As a person he is fascinating, and certainly an extremely good mathematician. However, he really shouldn't be teaching College Algebra, maybe not even Trig and Pre-Calc. His knowledge exceeds standards and expects you to already know the work you're doing.

Honestly, hardest professor I ever took. Judges students based on their ability to do problems. Glides over problems, doesn't show all the steps "because we should know how to do them." Rude if you ask for help and will call you stupid. Tests were nothing like the study guides.

Mr Ravandi is always there for his students to answer questions or help them out on the things they find difficult. Could be better about not skipping steps in equations. Tho, he is funny and tries to make class fun. Optional homework (xtrcrdt), no math lab, & gives you point on the test just for trying. If you work hard & do hw, you will get an a.

Horrible! The only plus is my mathlab is optional. He makes you feel stupid for asking questions, and he actually told someone their question was stupid. He lets you know 1st day that only like 5 people were going to pass, and he seems as if he takes pride in that. I know a prior student who has all A's in his PTECH degree, except his C in this one

Dr. Ravandi's class was tough, but the grade you receive is the grade you earned! If you work hard and participate in class then he will recognize your effort and work with you. After the two-three weeks he is less rude! Stick through with it and you will make it! P.S- Do not take his jokes to heart; if you are sensitive do not take this class.

Great professor that does not hand out grades. Class started out full and he thinned out the students that did not want to be challenged, there was about seven left at the end. He helps you understand the material and elaborates on how there is more than one way to solve a problem. Take his class if you are willing to study and learn the material.

Ravandi is known as one of the harder teachers on campus. I'm currently taking him, and I can say, he lives up the the reputation. He expects you to have an extremely strong math background. However, as the year has been growing, I like him. I hated math and now I like it. He doesn't hand grades out. You better work for them. Effort passing grade

Dr. Ravandi knows his stuff! Wasn't sure about this class initially, as I heard to "stay away", but I was very happy with the outcome! Dr. Ravandi forces you to LEARN math, unlike others. He is very willing to help his students and truly wants everyone to try hard and do their best. Great teacher and I would take him again.(had for College Algebra)

I've never worked so hard for a C, but I don't blame him, if you do the homework, study at home, you'll do fine. On test he gives you points for getting close to the right answer, for trying and showing what you know. Very fair teacher in my opinion, don't let him scare you on the first day though. He knows his algebra, he's also pretty comical too

Avoid this teacher. Not helpful, insensitive, doesn't communicate well at all! Outside tutoring is not enough. His tests are unfair. Being "smart" in one's field does not always translate to being an "effective teacher!"

Avoid his higher level math classes. Calculus 1 and 2 specifically. Studing his homework assignments and in class quizzes are not enough to even pass his tests. He tests you at a much higher level than he teaches to. Apply to your university and take calculus there, it is likely that you will either drop his class or your grade will not transfer.

All around great teacher. He's willing to take any bit of time necessary to explain something you may be confused about. His lighthearted jokes keep the class fun. His tests are fairly easy, and best of all... NO HOMEWORK. The homework he gives you is merely extra credit on the final exam.

Teacher is rude and fast pace, he talks about how american teachers have failed us in math and that is why we are in his class. I changed to another 0320 teacher after attending 4 classes. I started to make good grades. Beware of this Instructor!
