Alice is a very nice professor and she knows a lot but she is not clear at all during her lectures, they are just hard to follow, and this makes the class really difficult. The key is going to her office hours to get help, you'll understand so much better if you do. Don't take class with her if you don't want to read...a lot!!!

Okay, yeah, you can get by without reading much, but I found the material interesting, and that she was almost ALWAYS available during her office hours - she was very helpful when her assignments were unclear, and gave me great direction where I could go with it.

The assignments seemed like busy work. Hard to make much of her lectures. She's really helpful if you e-mail her or talk to her outside of class.

Alice is way funny and cute in an absent minded professor way and she explains things really well. She's not all that organized, but she's always willing to help and work on stuff if you need.

Was an amazing class if your willing to work and be challenged, plus you have to be willing to tackle issues yourself, think critically, and basically figure it out... though she is always willing to help if you ask :)

this is an easy class, but if you want to learn something, forget it. I took intro with her and I aced it without reading a thing. I took this class because my advisor said I should if I want to go to grad. school. OMG, what a waste of time.

Alice is a great sociologist but a very poor professor, particularly at the introductory level. She is condescending and overexplains most things in her lectures, which are unengaging at best. Her written assignments are a waste of time.
