This was a good course and prepped me well for the MCAT. He is challenging enough, but not impossible. He makes you think a step beyond the normal, which means you have to apply yourself. Not a plug and chug type of class. Great guy all around if you want to know the truth. He even attends music recitals, likes plants, and is a joy to talk to.

Prof. Johnson is one of the most intelligent people I have ever met. He is very helpful during office hours and does want his students to succeed. He teaches with more of a critical thinking college manner than high school teachers which some students have trouble with, but he does stimulate you to think. Hard workers will do fine in his class! ;)

Prof. Johnson is a horrible lecturer. His lectures are the powerpoints that are provided by the textbook. It's probably best not to attend the lectures because he makes everything seem so confusing, just reading the book is all you really need to do. He grades on a pretty big curve. His tests are ok, he lets you have a one page cheat sheat.

The only thing good about this class is his curve...I thought I was going to get a D but ended up with a B. He also offers extra credit. Tests arn't too difficult, but don't bother going to class. Didn't help at all. Better off reading the book yourself. Good luck =)

This guy is a horrible teacher. His lectures are incredibly boring and useless. The only way to get through this class is study on your own and ask another professor for help.

He is a lazy teacher. Period. He tries to act very scholarly by using the word 'clever' often. He will give you a speil about being responsible in class only to take 2 weeks to post grades after a test. An absolute horror of a teacher, I only wish I knew in advance, so I could have saved my money, since I tought myself this material anyway. Jacka$$

OK, where do I begin, this prof is extremely brilliant although he does not belong anywhere near a classroom. He belongs in a research lab only. During office hours it takes 30 min for a 5 min question. He is unable to bring it down to a basic level. Its a hard enough class by itself and he sure dosent help the situation.Do not take for basic class

Pretty Boring. I rarely went to class. It wasn't incredibly difficult. I must admit the Chemistry department at UNLV is quite lacking in general. Johnson fits the mould for this department well.

it is a wonderful class if you want to know about his private life. i learned that if you want a great dinner you need to be willing to spend 300+ dollars. i must admit that i got ample amounts of sleep during his lectures. so i hope that everyone takes this professor so you will suffer what i have gone through. cheers!!!

Horrible professor with a very BAD attitude. Lectures are literally just the figures and sample problems from the text. Does not seem interested is seeing students succeed in Chemistry. Definatly avoid this guy if possible. Go with Hodge or Orgil.

Lectures are pointless. Learned everything from book. His tests are tricky and make you think(I made a lot of dumb mistakes which brought me down). Isn't helpful if you can't go to Office Hours and never responds to emailed questions. BORING teacher who doesn't really teach.

His lectures are pretty boring, but he will help you if you go to his office hours. You actually need to read the book beforehand to understand the lecture which is not something a lot of freshmen students are doing, hence the complaints. His tests are not that hard, he is somwhat tricky but if you read the book you should be more than fine.

He is the most boring man alive and his lectures are absoluteley pointless. I hate his stupid commercials. You'll find out about his stupid commercials if you take this class, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Ugh. Horrible teacher. Comes in on Monday mornings complaining about his hard weekend (who cares?). Has a hard time staying on topic which makes lectures nearly worthless. Most everything I've learned this semester I had to learn on my own.

This prof is horrible. He's lazy. His lectures are downloaded from the textbook website. His hw quizes were too and it seems so are his tests. He is boring and hasn't stuck to his syllabus. He spent almost 1 month teaching ch.1 only to rush through harder material. He's not dynamic and is hard to reach by email/otherwise if you can't make office hrs

VERY DIFFICULT CLASS, but is completely worth the trouble. Be prepared to work and receive frequent quizzes (he annouces them) and tests. He is very helpful to students that need it and for pete sakes, USE THE OFFICE HOURS. You will not regret it.
