Schneiders lectures are interesting. Do not expect to delve deep into any of the material. His exams are tough, but he gives a good curve. His office hours are bad, but he tries. He is very nice and easy to talk to.

Very easy, slow-paced lectures. Only 2 tests throughout the semester and 1 optional essay. Much of the material presented is outdated and he makes us read from his outdated textbook as well. Would definitely recommend SCAN over this course if you are looking for up-to-date neuroscience research. He seems sweet though and occasionally cracks jokes.

Forget everything that has been written about Schneider up until now. I have taken three classes with him, two years of independent research, and he was my thesis advisor. I consider myself an expert. He is admittedly quirky, but a fantastic educator in a broad sense of the word. His psychology is sound and he teaches his students how to learn.

Professor Schneider is one of those professors that absolutely loves what he does. He is a very effective lecturer and always makes sure that the class understands his main points. Psyc 001 has attachments outside of class and prove to be very enjoyable. You will be given an excellent preview of the solid Swat psych department.

Excellent. Yes, he does repeat the entire previous class at the beginning of each lecture, and yes he does prohibit all questioning during lecture, and yes, he is like a tape-player that can't be restarted once it's interrupted, but the class is excellent. Out of date only in that he presents foundational studies, as appropriate in an intro class

Wow. I'm sitting in his class right now, and his teeth just almost fell out. Literally; I guess he has dentures or something. This guy uses so many adjectives that by the time he's done with a sentance you have no idea where he started in the first place. I really like Psych, and he's a really nice guy. boring though.Class attendance is about 40%.

Schneider is generally just a really amusing guy to watch. He's animated and caricature-ish, a bumbling skinny old man who isn't always entirely sure what's going on. If you're looking to learn psychology, his intro class is probably not for you. However, it's not a lot of work, and is generally a great way to get a bunch of good prof quotes.

He is funny but very repetative. Class is paced like molasses. All in class questions are banned. The work is very light though, and the tests are easy. Much of the material is horribly out of date and he barely even mentions whole branches of psych. If you actually want to learn good psych, do NOT take his intro. If you want an easy credit, do.

Took Intro with him and as I went to lunch after class every day my psych-major friend would tell me the parts of his lecture which were "decades out of date". I pretty much regard it as a wasted credit.

What to you get when you combine inane sophomoric lectures that pander to the lowest common demonenator, a text book that takes 700 pages to say nothing, and a class where the hardest thing to do is just stay away? Psychology 001 with Allen Schnieder.

Alan Schneider is the reason I even chose Psychology as part of my Special Major. My favorite part about his class is how he does NOT allow the routinely stupid person in class to take up class time with stupid questions. Bravo, Schneider!

He is an entertaining, interesting lecturer, although I guess he moves a bit slow at times. The class takes almost no work except going to lectures and skimming the book before tests, but yet you still feel like you learned something.
