Comment:

Prof. Ami was, by far, the best prof that I met at York. Informative and entertaining lectures, experiential exercises, so much advice and also suggestions about how to apply to grad. school, and a man truly dedicated to teaching psychology which is obvious that he loves. He demonstrated a therapy session in one of our meetings, left us admiring.

Comment:

I heard a lot about this course and professor and therefore chose it. It was better than what was dscribed to me. Prof. Rokach is a gem. He is enthusiastic (so much so that he was able to make me fully awake at the early hour of 8:30 AM), his lectures are riveting, he gives loads of examples from his clinical work, and deeply cares about students.

Comment:

I find myself joining the slew of very positive ratings. This professor is a gem, and I wish that more would have been like him. His classes are captivating, his enthusiasm for the material is obvious, and his engaging personality all make taking a course with him an excellent choice. Would want to take other courses with him. Any time.

Comment:

Dr. Rokach seemed unique and outstanding as soon as he entered our class. Very fast he broke the ice, got us to mingle and know each other, and asked us to do some projects in groups. The class became cohesive, and with the interesting presentations, pleasant class atmosphere, it was my best class at York. Highly recommend him!!!

Ami is by far the best prof I ever had, at York and in the other university I attended. It was delightful to be in his class, his lectures were super interesting and amusing, the class atmosphere was relaxed, friendly and conducive to learning, and I, and other students, were sorry to see the semester end.

I cannot understand why would anyone not totally love this class. Exams and grading - fair Classes & discussions - very interesting Availability of Dr. Rokach - available in and outside of class, and always ready to help Knowledge -up to date, and comes with many examples. Class - very cohesive because of the prof. A joy to take this course

The best professor I had at York and at other institutions I attended. Inspirational, interesting lectures, up to date on theories and approaches, provides many examples form his rich experience of being a clinical psychologist. Students love him.

Easiest A+ BUT Ami is rude & narrow-minded. Doesnt like when his views & methods are questioned. Talks too much about himself & his book, an antiquated mess that won't help in the 21st century. Not up-to-date on current research, blatantly ignores York policies, & obsessed with his reviews & inappropriate jokes. Hard to learn from & respect.

Just finished a course with Prof. Rokach. Felt very sad that it ended. Was looking forward to attending classes, which were always interesting, informative, fun. He is one of the best profs. in the psych dept. at York. I wish that he taught more courses. Very highly recommend him.

He is the best professor i've had in my 4 years at york. I'm not a morning person but every week i looked forward at attending his classes. His lectures are fun and engaging. He uses his personal experiences working at mental health centres to explain concepts. He is great! I learnt a lot from him. more seminar classes should be like this

Imagine, an 8:30 AM class twice a week during the summer - and I was looking forward to it. And if I came to class sleepy, Ami would wake me up. By his funny jokes, engaging teaching style, stories form his therapeutic experiences with patients, and his enthusiasm for the material. Comment:

His is the only useful class you will take in psych undergrad that will help you be a counselor. He has the best approach; learn all you can from him. Don't take this class elsewhere or with someone else. He really loves his work as a counselor, you can read it off of him in large print. Also evaluations are very easy, 2 exams 1 group presentation.

Ami was the best Professor I have ever had at York- he is a very caring and compassionate man with a big heart. He knows his stuff too I am confused as to why someone said he didn't and made the class a lot more enjoyable by not simply 'lecturing' us but by giving us real life examples from his experience as a psychologist. HIGHLY recommend

Besides the lecture on loneliness, Ami didn't have much of a knowledge base. He isn't up to date with any therapy, and can be quite rude to students (cuts them off in mid sent, brushing opinions aside), however, the class itself is incredibly easy. He ensures students present chapters in the text (as he doesn't know the material?), and exams r EZ

Unbelievable. A 9:00 AM class, and still a joy to take. The professor made our meetings interesting, easy to participate in, and the class atmosphere was relaxed so all could participate. Very highly recommend this course!!
