Sister Long is such a great professor. She has such a love of family history, and it shows! I had no interest in family history before this class, but now I'm addicted. Every student at BYU should take this class. You can feel the Spirit so strongly. Tests are easy. This class is definitely worth taking!

I was really excited for this class. I think I expected more from it than we were going to learn. In this class you learn about the computer programs and not as much about your family. I found the class boring. She gives a reveiw session before each test and the test isn't that hard. Busy work assignments.

I really enjoyed this class. Yes there are many assignments but they are helpful for learning how to do family history. She gives you a study guide that tells you what is on each test. I would definately reccomend this class to anyone who wants to get started on their family history. Sister Long is a sweetheart.

I was excited for this class, but ended up hating it. The class could have been easily summed up in 2 weeks. Redundant lectures, way too much work for a 2 credit class. I was also annoyed by her constant references to her "prestigious" family: she goes by "Amy Oaks Long" and often tells us about "Uncle Dallin." Find another teacher.

It was very redundant, she didn't answer my questions with the clarity I'd hoped for. I have experience in this area and I couldn't taught the class better! She talked a lot about her own family history, showed countless slides meant to make us feel the spirit, and yet all I felt was boredom. Take another teacher.

Her class is great for starting you on your genealogy. She knows tons of stuff, and totally wants you to succeed and find your family. The class is easy. There's a lot of assignments, but they are all easy. Tests are straight forward-she gives you review sheets before each one. Highly recommended.

Very interesting class. The assignments are not too bad and she is an easy grader. A good way to get started on family history. Lectures were sometimes redundant. I also sometimes felt like we were learning more about her family history instead of our own.

I thought that this was a lot of work for a two credit class. I learned a lot and it was helpful, but I didn't really love it. Sister Long is okay, but not amazing. I probably would take a different teacher if I had it to do over again.

Great class, really got me more interested in family history. Her assignments are easy; they're mainly to give you experience. The lectures never really seemed connected to one another, but she provided a good study guide for the midterm and final, and those were both super easy. Her classes always had a great spirit in them.

FANTASTIC CLASS. Best way to get started on your family history. She is genuinely interested in helping you individually and all the assignments directly relate to your personal family history. Even if all your genealogy is done there is something to learn!
