Great personality, she really cares about her students success in the class. She gives weekly quizzes and weekly activities that are turned in online. The bulk of your grade comes from the final paper and poster presentation. Pay attention to her lectures because those will help you with your quizzes

So Unorganized and unclear in every class. She refused to answer our questions, instead, she had other students answer with their personal opinions... Half the class time was used trying to clarify what was expected of us. Expectations changed weekly. I would never take a class from her again!

Literally worst professor I have ever had. Very unclear, I was incredibly confused the entire time. Doesn't explain assignments well and goes overboard on APA. Not that she makes sure we use it, she used almost 10 classes describing how to use it. Just plan terrible. Do not take her classes.

Nice lady but very unorganized and unclear. There was a lot of work and her explanations didn't help to complete the work. Often i was confused and i definitely wasn't the only one.

Professor Garcia's class is worth taking. She is one of the best teachers in a department that has very few good teachers. I would sign up for another class from her if I should get the opportunity.

She knows the subject but has a difficult time making the lectures clear, concise. Lots of weekly "busy" work: chapter outlines (like in high school!) reading responses, weekly quizzes in addition to a research paper, an interview paper, midterm and final. The amount of work equals a 4 unit class. Very kind and sweet personality.

Comment:
This is an easy class but she doesn't explain assignments clearly; every word is an 'um' or an 'uh'. I counted 103 'um' and 'uh' in 30 minutes that is truly ridiculous. She is not a good teacher and this is a boring class. I do not recommend taking her if you can take someone else.

Of the three teachers I took classes from during my first semester at this university, Garcia is the only one that I will take another class from. The Child Development Department at Sac. State should be closed, perminately.

This class migth be difficult for those who have not heavily studied Child development and research material. This professor teaches material like you already know it. If you are slow and have difficulty comprehending material, this class is not for you.

The material is confusing and her lectures don't always help clarify things. In fact, sometimes they cause more confusion. I don't see the relevence of taking this class. I recommend not taking it unless you need to write research articles in your job.
