Very very helpful one-on-one. Exams were open-note/book, and there were weekly homeworks that were occasionally ridiculously difficult -- BUT they are based on the class & book, and grading was chill and more than fair. (I've heard this about other classes too.) The professor himself is pretty neat; he really cares and wants students to succeed.

Comment:
Good guy, good class, helped me to start to understand the architecture of a computer. As with the previous comment, the homeworks were off topic, and so they were a bit harder than the midterm and the final. However, if you are interested in the class, and pay attention, there really isn't that much work.

We need to distinguish the whining 141 flunkers from the real CS comments. Andreas is a nice guy, with a simple teaching style. His midterm/final was fair and was representative of the material. Homeworks determined by TAs were a little off topic...that was my only con.

In numerical analyis, he is really good. He knows his subject quite well, extremely helpful. But he has BIG EGO. But he is definately in the 2nd Tier professor. After Prof.Mao, Prof. Kearnes and Prof. Zhang. But he knows little in Parallel Computing and Architecture. Sorry guys.

Toughest class at this school. Weeds out the comp sci majors from people who dont belng. His strong Greek accent and speed of teaching make a tough class even harder. Very helpful outside of class, but if you arent a genious, you need a clearer professor.

Very helpful one-on-one. The lectures tend to be dizzying; so, you'll have to ask lots of questions to slow him down. He's very knowledgable. Make an effort to understand the problems yourself. Otherwise, you'll get a taste of his arrogance.

RUSHES through exercises, is very unhelpful when explaining projects one-on-one, i was even more confused then when I walked in - most of all, didn't bother to learn my name until the end of the semester, call me You with a sneer on his face...very rude

what an arrogant jerk! acts as if he is too important to teach class because of his boring research. someone hit him with the mean stick when he was young.
