He is a great teacher! Very lecture heavy but all of the conversations had been very insightful and eye opening. I learned a lot in this class and it's refreshing to see a teacher so passionate. Be prepared to talk in class and to have readings for homework each week. You can't slack off in his class so be prepared to work.

Comment:
Good teacher, but it's not a slacker class. If you do take the class make sure you like to talk and you might have to push your way in the conversation because Mr. Causey likes to talk. Also this is a class that you have to show up for attendance really counts!

Dr. Causey was the best teacher I have ever had. Most Cultural Studies professors are pretentious but not him. He is so smart and passionate about what he has to say and it's refreshing to have a teacher like him. Don't swear in his classroom. He would rather have yoy turn in a good paper a week late than a bad paper turned in on time.

Comment:
Very charming and studious man though Visual Anthropology was more then a bit of a challenge. The subject was interesting and he taught it well, but it was very hard to understand. The books were very complicated reads and it was often difficult to determine exactly was Dr. Causey was saying. Great class if you're a reader and enjoy deep thinking.

Dr. C is about as close to the pinnacle of teaching as possible. I say this because his method of teaching focuses clearly on the subject matter while pouring over into many other important aspects of life. Intelligent, experienced and genuinely passionate about Anthropology, Ethnographic Film and the well being of his students.

Comment:
Very informed, with a penetrating intellect. Challenges students to defend their statements. I feel like I learned a lot in this class and wish he taught more courses. Highest possible recommendation. Also, his dry sense of humor sometimes makes him seem like he's straight out of a Christopher Guest movie.
