I have loved most of my profs at IC but Ann is awful. She acts like she knows everything in the most condescending way; asking us to do an exercise about getting a woodchuck out of a car.... and then telling us we did it all wrong? As a CMST honors student, I can say that Ann's class is a must avoid in this department.

Doesn't tell you about the quizzes but you can study her powerpoints in 10 minutes and get an A on them. 7 questions, but only grades 5, so 2 questions are throw aways. Projects are all soccer based and pointless. Teaches about working in small groups but can't even work with the students taking her class. Awful professor, stay away!

Terrible class. Professor claims to know about working in groups in the real world, but as someone who has graduated and working in a real world company, I can assure you she doesn't know what she's teaching. Her lectures are boring, and her projects are pointless. Biggest waste of time at IC

WOW I am really going to miss Ann. She made my first college class experience super enjoyable and fun to attend. She is very specific on how she likes her outlines for speeches so make sure you follow them. Only 2 tests so you don't necessarily need the book, only one you can look on with. Really a great professor. So funny and very knowledgeable

Ann is a total sweetheart, if you put yourself into this class, not only will she appreciate it, but she will love you for it. She taught me a lot about communicating in groups, and she valued our participation. It's not easy if you don't engage yourself, but if you do, you will likely get an A

All exams are soley based off from the book.The book contains a website w/notecards,Textbook useless bc of this.She goes over in class doesn't cover the exams& is all about "real world" getting job&cleaning up all of your ridiculous stuff on facebook, in otherwords stop posting your life on facebook and you'll know half the stuff she talks about!

A lot of time consuming speeches, presentations, interviews, and projects are required for this class on top of 2 exams. I hate public speaking so I did not enjoy this class, I hated it actually. Most of the assignments are completed outside of class though so attendance is mandatory only for a participation grade.

Ann is the best teacher I've had so far at Ithaca. She has a unique way of teaching thats extremely effective. I learned so much in her class and still think about stuff she taught me. Everyone in my class loved her and when we see each other we talk about how much we miss her! So personable if you get along with her

She is EXTREMELY opinionated and set in her ways. If you know how to deal with that and just suck it up and agree with her, the class is a breeze. Very nice woman, very intelligent. If you don't agree with her, keep your mouth shut. Didn't buy the book or look at it once. It's common sense if you have half a brain.

All the comments written about her are true. She is easy, does not go along with the book, and sometimes gets on tangents (Okay, all the time). It really depends on your preference of teaching style if you will like her or not. You will learn a lot, but not exactly what you expected to learn. I would give her a 7/10.

Her tests are as easy as the tests on the cd's that come with the book, actually they are the same thing!! Plus, Ann does something lots of teachers can't, she makes class a ton of fun!! I had her for interviewing as well as business and professional communication. She's an AMAZING teacher. Shes such an entertaining speaker. I hate to miss her class. She gives you so much insight on things other than class material. Very lenient; no hw, or doesnt check hw. Otherwise just sit back and be entertained

anne is a great person but what you "learn" in class has nothing to do with tests...to prepare for these irrelevant tests, you have to use the cd that comes with the textbook and study the questions...annoying because material and tests are unrelated but if you are on her good side she will give u an ill grade

Not as bad as she's been recently made out to be. If you go into the class with even a little bit of interest in the subject matter, you shouldn't have too much of a problem. Yes, she can be a little too wacky at times, but she's also very experienced in her field and knows what she's talking about. Her tests are difficult, but not impossible.

The tests in Small Group Comm are murder. The projects are somewhat easier, and they do lift up your grade, which is usually needed. Ann is a wonderful person, and has moments of brilliance while teaching, but most of the time, I didn't learn much.

How do you fools like this woman??? She is a pompous, know it all, better than everyone else ****. Her tests have NOTHING to do with the classroom "discussions" about her sons and Tom Cruise. If this was a pop culture class I would have an A, but since she doesnt cover anything from the textbook before tests, they are pretty much impossible.
