Comment:

Although Dr. Doyle has years of experience under her belt, quite a few classes were spent discussing topics that could have been covered in 10 minutes or so. She cancelled quite a few times this semester, mostly due to illness. The syllabus is a light suggestion and having to write a page or so "ink shedding" for most classes became very tedious.

Comment:

I took her for Intro to Linguistics and she makes you feel bad for asking questions. Her lectures are never clear and the whole class is left confused. I reached out to her for extra help multiple times and she never got back to me even when I approached her after class about this matter.

She is never clear about what she wants or when she wants it. Class time is wasted talking about nothing. She is also very hypocritical and will tear you apart for things that she does herself. During group projects and mini lessons, she talks down on you and makes you feel less than. I dreaded coming to this class and DONT recommend it.

Comment:

She appears knowledgeable, but doesn't know how to transfer her information to her students. So instead of working on her technique, she demoralizes anyone who doesn't get her teaching methods/text explanation. She teaches at times from the book, go on youtube, you will learn more and be better prepared for her random tests and random quizzes.

As a person, she is very sweet, but I would never encourage anyone to take her class. Pretty much have to teach myself everything because her lectures are long, redundant and excruciatingly BORING. Avoid Doyle by any means necessary.

Professor Doyle is very interesting. She seems sweet and nice, and usually is when you talk to her one on one but if you ask her something in front of the class that she deems stupid, she'll completely embarrass you. Cancels all the time and tests and quizzes are a nightmare. She knows everyone does terrible so she offers extra credit but avoid her

One of the worst professors I've had in my four years. Not only is she rude and talks down to people, she is completely disorganized. Learning anything in her class is difficult as her responses to students' questions are often rude and pretentious. DO NOT TAKE A CLASS WITH HER! Quizzes are totally random, usuallyirrelevant to homework assignments

Most of the class was lost,weren't given corrections back before the next assignment was due, and she is very unclear with expectations. She reads from the text most of the class, very boring! She is disorganized, and on her own level with grammar. Teaching of Writing is a req,and she is the only one teaching it, so no escaping this terrible class

She may look like a sweet old lady, but she's absolutely not. She thinks she knows everything and will not admit to being wrong, even when she knows that she is. She never emails back, destroys papers, and treats everyone like 1st graders. I hated the thought of even going to her class, and tried to get out if it any chance i could. DO NOT TAKE HER

I had her for a graduate course. She cancelled three times, and when you only meet once a week, that's quite a bit of time! She interrupts to ask lots of questions during presentations. She uses impossible vocabulary when it could be put much simpler. However, she is a nice, understanding woman.

I am speechless after finishing her liguistics class. No pun intended, but she is completely unorganized and very unclear in instruction. I honestly believe these attributes directly determine what grade you will get in her class, because without much feedback, returned quizzes, etc...you really have no control in how you will do in her class.

Awful teacher, disorganized, lost papers, and never answers emails. Nobody ever knew what she was talking about. I never read and got an A-. She cancelled about 3-4 times, a few papers, midterm, and a group project. She's whatever, i'll try to avoid. Take this class with a friend so you're not totally bored.

Dr. Doyle is a great lady. She is extremely helpful. Sometimes scattered but, I think that is the problem of the college, and to some extent, her. She seems to have lots and lots of responsibilities beyond teaching. Overall, I do recommend her for grad. classes. I don't recall undergrad. (and I did have her then too) but, really nice woman.
