Comment:

Best language teacher I've had. Involves a lot of work in pairs so that you get to practice speaking in class, and if you have trouble understanding just let her know and she's 100% wanting to help. Homework after every class, but it's always SUPER EASY. The LanguageLab exercises take 1-4 minutes each. Quizzes, Midterm+Final, HW, Oral Presentation.

Comment:

One of the best Spanish teachers I've ever had. Patient, kind, fun, and engaging. I never wanted to check my phone a single time during class. Made my day better every time. She gives a fair amount of homework consistently, but it all helps you learn the language. Definitely take her class, you will improve as a Spanish speaker/writer/thinker!

The Pro: Prof Edstrom is extremely helpful and willing to see you during office hours for extra assistance. The Cons: She gives quizzes every other week like clockwork; 10-12 modules of online Spanish Lab EVERY class and doesn't count late submissions; no test curves or drops of worst grade; only 2 absences allowed then points removed; TOUGH CLASS

Professor Edstrom cares whether or not her students understand the material and is more than willing to help if you ask her a question. She posts everything on Canvas about the upcoming class and homework that is due. It is a somewhat difficult class if you don't study. Tests are usually vocab from the book and the topic that you've been learning.

While she's a nice person, her style completely destroyed my confidence in my ability to teach. She has nothing positive to say when it comes to the unit plan and lesson demos. She will criticize you in front of the entire class. She emphasizes teaching Spanish "differently," but offers no actual examples of how to do so.

Professor Edstrom rocks!!! I took this class as an elective and I am glad I did because I really enjoyed the class. She is such a nice lady and she does a great job of explaining the material and making it come alive. Do not take this class if you do not like doing homework,because there is a ton of it. :-)

She is very nice and wants you to do well. Interacts with the whole class and makes it as fun as possible. Class passes by so fast because she makes it so fun. Really makes sure everyone understands it before she moves on. Many quizzes, but she tells you what's going to be on them. I'm glad I took her class because I learned and had fun doing it

I think she is such a sweet person and actually makes class fun. She gets everyone involved and you are always surprised that class is over because you're not staring at the clock the whole time. We interacted with classmates a lot and she tried to make sure everyone understood the material.

This class requires a lot of work because being a teaher is not easy. She gives mostly lesson plans instead of exams. You also do 2 presentations in front of her spanish 1 students. This can be hard if you get too nervous. Otherwise the class is fine.

Edstrom is such a wonderful person. In this class you a few easy quizzes, but you have to do lesson plans. She helps you a lot but is not always clear. You do 2 presentaions also in front of her spanish 1 students. She knows her stuff, but sometimes her class can be very boring because she is way too serious.

She is very nice but the material is a challenge. The midterm and final are made by the Dept. not her so any issues with it cant fall on her alone. She does try to raise the grades buy giving a lot of quizzes. They are usually easy but the class is difficult. In short- do the work, try hard and you'll be fine. Shes very understanding.
