I really enjoyed her classes. All the stats and content thought were extremely interesting and intriguing. It's extremely important to attend all lectures to get a good grade but no memorization is necessary: if you went to class you will know all the answers. She is a fair market, and I would gladly take another class with her.

I HIGHLY disagree with whoever said that sociology takes just as much work as other classes. This class was a JOKE. If you attending class and just write down what she says and study from that then I really don't see how you could get less than an A. I never got below 90 in anything in the course and put in WAY less effort than my other courses.

Great professor overall. I'm a procrastinator so on both assignments and all the tests I would pull an all nighter to cram and did relatively well (I'm going into the final with a B+) Read your text though!!! It is essential for the tests!

People complain about her since they expect sociology to be an "easy" option, where it takes just as much work as anything else. Show up to class and be prepared to take your own notes since her powerpoints have only guidelines, but if you attend class and read the textbook you will do well.

Comment:

I have a GPA of over 3.0 this class has destroyed my average and caused me to vow never to take a soci class again. She has nothing in her ppt. notes, and speaks really fast if she feels there is a lot of content that day, disregarding whether or not you can get down everything she says. The assignments assigned also seemed irrelevant.

Comment:

Lectures are dryer than a piece of stale bread but still incredibly informative. Follows the textbook fairly closely but provides interesting insight from time to time. By no means a bad prof at all. Briefing note assignment should not be marked on aesthetics though, that's just silly.

Classes are dry but subject matter pretty interesting. She is very kind and caring. Went to see her during office hours for an extension and she was very understanding. DO READ THE TEXTBOOK!! She encourages class participation even in a huge class which helps keep you awake. Overall good experience.

SOCI 315: Great Prof, really takes the time to make sure all students understand the lessons, doesn't assume that students' have prior knowledge and has fair marking schemes. Her tests are fair but you must study for them. She is very approachable!
