Comment:

People seem to either love or hate Dr. Irwin. I thought the course I had with her was great! Some of it was unconventional, but I actually learned from it, the tests were pretty straightforward, the paper was fun and the "tutorials"/group project was enjoyed by all.

Comment:

This course made me realize why I'm in biochem and not social sciences. Her experience comes from the Canadian Military, and not from studing other cultures. In a symester you learn about as much as if you spent 2 hours reading a book. Tutorials were TERRIBLE. This course belongs in high school.

Interesting and creative. Midterms were challenging, but writing them in pairs made them quite a bit easier. Overall, I would recommend her as an anthropology professor.

Easy class, especially due to midterms in pairs. Seemed really nice in class, but in office hours acted like i shouldn't have been there and that she couldn't wait for me to leave. But definitely interesting and an easy A!
