Taken multiple classes. Work with him professionally at CBS. Former GM of his radio station. Man is incredibly wise in the broadcasting world. Loves to talk up a storm and tell stories. Extremely tech savvy. Waiting to be wowed by students. Make sure you show up, don't screw up and respect him and you'll do just fine. Learn as much as you can.

Ok the thing about carey is that he's either your type of people or not. you have to be a tv radio person to get him. the man knows everything there is to about the radio end and his EXTREMELY connected! trust me this man has worked for every outlet you can think of! and if he talks to you one on one..LISTEN! and learn...otherwise great teacher!

I had Carey for Intro. to Radio & am now in remote radio broadcasting with him. In intro he assigned a book that was lectured out of literally once; usually he doesn't bother, so if you see one listed for him, wait on buying. He's very well-connected & uses that to advance ambitious students. Very experienced, & a very direct personality. If you take the time to put effort into your work & listen to him, you'll learn a lot! Best broadcasting prof. on campus.
