Loved every minute spent with her. Yes, she does expect your best efforts. Tough grader? That's her job - you will become a better writer; good grammar and precise language. Participate with enthusiasm, best efforts: pass with flying colors. I was mortified when I received my first graded essay-so I asked her how to improve it; she was very helpful

19C Am. Lit - Chilly teacher - got as far away from the class as possible as she stood in front to lecture - no room for any interpretations of the literature that did not agree with hers. She knows her stuff but she is far from warm and fuzzy. Not terribly inspiring. Too bad.

She really is not a nice lady. She says one thing and if you don't quote her exactly on tests she marks it wrong...hello, notes are not supposed to be ver batem!! She told me to drop the class after the first test instead of asking if I wanted to speak with her or ask for extra help. She sucks.

Okay, don't expect an easy grade. She assigns easy readings, but asks bizzaro questions and if you don't know the answer than she hates you. Don't be late and don't get up to pee during class either. And no matter how much you participate, she won't give you credit for it. Her tests seem easy, but you must say exactly what she says in class

Her grading is bad. I went from getting a 98 on one test to an 80 on the next. Its all based on if you agree with her EXACTLY. Don't take her if you want above a B because you won't get it no matter how hard you try shell find something wrong ALSO she calls on random people and if u dont know the answer to her question, she assumes you didnt do it

I found this course to be very boring and unexciting due to the lack of knowledge and enthusiasm of the professor. The professor was very tough with grading and did not like it when you disagreed with her. I was given a bad essay grade because she did not agree with my opinion. Very boring class= she should definitely retire-

Her classes are not for the timid or those who do not like to talk in class, you will be graded highly on participation. If you don't want to work really hard or participate a lot then avoid her. She is a tough grader but I suppose it makes you a stronger writer in the end.
