Professor Ansani is a great teacher, people probably write bad reviews because they did not study hard enough and ended up failing. She does her job and even when I was failing at first she still sent me out an email telling me to go to tutoring because she truly wants ALL her students to pass. Go to tutoring and her office hours and youll be good

Comment:

Professor Ansani is a very great teacher, she tries to go over everything throughly so that EVERYONE understands and even goes out of her way to make sure students who arent doing their best get some help. Quizzes and exams are fair and very straight forward. I would definitely recommend her for Italian !!!

Prof. A is the rudest prof ive ever had. She gets very angry when you dont understand something, especially if you ask her to explain something more or ask a question. She will embarrass you when you dont understand. She isnt the worst grader and her tests are average, you would just need to do more studying and go for extra help.

I AM NOT SURE WHATS GOOD WITH YA AND THE BAD REVIEWS. I DID TAKE HER CLASS KNOWING A BIT OF ITALIAN BUT IT WAS EVEN THAT HARD AS THESE DRAMATIC PEOPLE ARE CLAIMING TO BE. HONESTLY SHE BARELY GIVES HW BUT WHEN SHE DOES YOU DONT EVEN HAVE TO DO IT BECAUSE SHE GOES OVER IT IN CLASS. THERES LIKE 6 QUIZZES IN TOTAL AND SHE DROPS THE LOWEST ONE. 3EXAMS

I took Ansani for Italian 1 and I HATED her. She is nasty and rude. She will embarrass you if you do not know the answer. Very denigrating to the class and treated us like failures. Ruined my interest in Italian and what's more made me hate it, and her. I dreaded her class. Overall rude nasty and cannot even teach that well. TAKE SOMEONE ELSE.

Prof Ansani will not let you step all over her. She will respect you, if you respect her back by putting all your effort in her class. She's not there to waste time but demands you put the effort like she does. I got an A because I made sure to come on time, do homework, and participate. She never disrespected me because I took her class serious.

Everyone thinks she is nasty but all she really asks you to do is the hw, classwork & participate. She gives quizzes & exams but tells you what to study & gives a review sheet online but isnt very specific. The class gets hard towards the end because everything is cumulative and there is just way too many things to remember.

She's a good proferssor. She put me in honors class. She is strict on hw and people that don't come prepare to class. If you show interest and that you try your best she motivates you more and makes you participate alot! Overall if your really interested in Italian, she is the right professor to take.

Comment:

Do NOT take her. She is not helpful, will expect you to already know Italian. Can not relate the subject to her students (constantly talks about how to go from Spanish to Italian, which is great if you speak Spanish). She will scold you if you ask a question. Cant stress this enough, take a different professor for Italian.

Horrible class. She has very little patience if you don't understand something right away. I was looking forward to learning Italian but halfway into the semester I dreaded going to the classes and she crushed any interest I had in the language. She has a bit of an attitude and definitely plays the favorite game.

Dont ask her a question. She will get mad at you that you dotn already know Italian. Most of what she says about everything is wrong as well. Shes a regular stuborn Italian who became a prof not becuase shes smart, just because she speaks more Italian then most people in teh US

Such a rude person. Came into the first day of class speaking Italian without giving is any definitions. Thinks she's better than everyone and has an attitude. She wanted us to have our textbooks by the second class, yet she didn't even have our syllabus by then.

If you have a tiny background with this language you will do fine. Her home works are small exercises from the workbook. If you don't understand she is willing to take time and help. However, like every other professor she doesn't tolerate laziness. I always did my work like 5 mins before class and she liked me because I was prepared.

I received a B in the class however it wasn't easy. She takes Italian very seriously and she kind of gets frustrated when her students aren't getting the gist of it. Her quizes and tests are straight from the textbook. Make sure you study and you should honestly be fine. I got 90s on her tests. She's also strict with attendance! so be there.

I took Ansani back in 2006 and I was in her honors class. I learned Italian because of her. Six years later, I am fluent in Italian and teach Italian in College. She is the best, but it depends on you.

Because of this teacher, I am fluent in Italian and have a tutor job. She is just great! If you don't learn with her, then you have a problem. I was her honor student in 2007. She told her colleagues I was her "dream" student. She thought I was great, but she is greater. She will teach you all you need to know to become fluent like me.

She is a good teacher but she expects too much from her students. Very strict with lateness, attendance and her exams are hard. Only take her if you are really interested in learning the language and are willing to study hard the material covered in class.
