Really like him! You get a sheet of notes for every test, and the option to make up lost points for every test. Yes, he is disorganized. No, you won't get your homework back. But you get full credit for it if he doesn't grade it. And seriously, the lateness? Every student is praying he is late enough that we can leave, so stop pretending you care!

This class isn't real organized. We fell about 3 weeks behind lecture. Didn't really explain to clearly the concept of the 2 programming assignments to a point where we could code it. Assisted us on it if we asked questions but was just a lost cause overall. The 2 tests are hard but you can bring a sheet of notes. Is 10 minutes late to every class.

This is a great class to take. It gives you an idea of how the inside of networks work. Be careful because this class seems easy but if you slack on the work it becomes hard! Homework is turned in but never graded and all the points are on tests and the one project. Interesting stuff!

Very knowledgeable with the material but an organizational nightmare. Didn't post the final exam study guide until the morning of the exam. He is just a joke when it comes to grading on time and posting assignments as promised. Gotta take him though so be prepared.

A good teacher -- lectures are clear, relevant, and easy to understand. Has lots of interesting stories and asides about various parts of the industry. Test are hard, but not impossible. Just study the material and you'll enjoy this class.

I had Patton for several CS classes as an undergrad, and we was the best CS prof I've had. Smart guy, funny, easy to understand, challenging assignments that actually make you think. And yes, CS exams are SUPPOSED to be on paper! It makes you THINK!

Those of us who gave Dr. Patton positive ratings did so because he's the only person in the department whose classes are interesting or challenging in the slightest. MM215 was a joke - I don't see how anyone could have done poorly in it, although I'll admit that Dr. Patton is really hard to get ahold of.

Avoid at all costs. Projects are much more complex than what is shown in class. It's a programming class and tests are conducted on paper. If you're not familiar with javascript, expect to learn it throroughly on your own. Impossible to get in touch with.

Terrible! I was getting an A (I've had prior experience in programming, so it was somewhat easy for me), but somehow, I got an incomplete on the final grade report! Hopefully, I can get this fixed! He was weeks behind on midterms, and I still don't know how I did on the homework! What good is this guy, and why is he still working at BU?

PATTON IS A JERK! Where do I begin. He is always 15 minutes late for class. He has never handed out a syllabus. His tests are awful, and he's a very unfair grader. Our midterm was a week delayed because he printed out the wrong tests. He is the laziest, most irresponsible teacher I've ever had! I don't know why people like this guy.

This class was the easiest I've ever taken at Bradley. If anyone complains about it, its because they're a COM major.

Most frustrating professor I've ever had. Won't answer his emails or phone. Arrives late everyday with a list of excuses why he didn't get our homework graded. If you've had pervious experience in programming you're better off . If not, you are totally screwed and AVOID HIM if possible.

Best CS teacher I've ever had. Great class, this guy knows what he's talking about and he's actually had industry xp. Test's are not super easy, but they are getting a little more reasonable over the semesters. (He puts up the old ones on his site.) So, basically Patton Rocks!

Best class I ever had. A nice and fun guy to talk to. Teaches clearly and hammers down the concepts for you. Knows what he's talking about. Fair grader. Put forth the effort (or already know your stuff) and he'll be your favorite prof in the CS dept!

The BEST teacher in the department. His tests are not that tough if you listen, study and put forth a bit of effort. He is clear in what you should know and classes are fun because he's a nice and fun guy. Classes often get off-topic and you learn cool stuff out of scope of the class.

CS500 also. Great prof. Very liberal about his teaching style, funny too,but be prepared to WORK HARD if you aren't a hard core computer geek or uber-smartie. The pay-off is worth it, though, since you know you've earned whatever grade you get from him.
